Container House Truck-mounted Crane Hook

Admin September 16, 2026

The container house truck-mounted crane hook should be selected according to the operation scenario, container specifications, and lifting requirements. Common types include swivel hooks, side hooks, and right-angle hooks, with attention to material, tonnage, angle, and safety design.

1. Hook Types and Applicable Scenarios

  1. Swivel Hook
For example, the 'G80-grade swivel hook lifting device' is forged from high-strength alloy steel, can withstand a load of 12.5 tons, and supports 45-degree rotation to the left, center, and right. It is suitable for multi-angle lifting of containers in narrow spaces, reducing the swing amplitude of the lifting arm through its swivel design and enhancing operational flexibility.

  2. Side Hook
The 'Container side lifting 12.5T high-quality ring ship-side hook' is specifically designed for side lifting, equipped with high-strength lifting rings and retractable legs. It is suitable for scenarios where containers are loaded and unloaded from the side, such as ports and logistics parks. Its heavy-duty design can match the needs of heavy containers, and the side-lifting structure reduces pressure on the vehicle chassis.

  3. Right-angle Hook
The '15T container right-angle hook' adopts a straight structure and is suitable for vertical lifting scenarios of containers, such as stacking in yards or lifting at fixed points. Its high-strength forging process ensures structural stability under full load, reducing the risk of deformation.

2. Key Parameter Selection Points

  1. Tonnage Matching
The rated load of the hook should be selected according to the self-weight of the container and the total weight of the cargo. For example, a 12.5-ton hook is suitable for a standard 20-foot container (an empty container weighs about 2.3 tons, and a fully loaded one can reach 28 tons), but a comprehensive evaluation should be conducted in combination with the maximum lifting capacity of the crane; a 15-ton hook is suitable for heavy equipment or 40-foot containers.

  2. Angle Design
A 45-degree hook can expand the lifting coverage and reduce the number of vehicle movements; a right-angle hook is suitable for precise vertical lifting. If the operation scenario involves multi-angle operations, a swivel hook that supports rotation should be preferred.

  3. Material and Process
The main body of the hook should be made of G80-grade alloy steel (with a tensile strength of ≥800MPa), and its surface should be treated with heat treatment and anti-corrosion coating to ensure long-term use without rusting in humid, salt-spray, and other environments. The forging process is superior to the casting process, reducing internal defects and enhancing structural strength.

3. Safety Design and Operation Specifications

  1. Safety Locks
The hook should be equipped with an automatic locking device, such as the positioning part design in the 'vertical garage hook device', which can jam the lifting ring during lifting to prevent accidental detachment. Before operation, the flexibility of the lock should be checked to ensure normal unlocking under load.

  2. Leg Stability
When the truck-mounted crane is in operation, the legs should be extended to fix the vehicle body and prevent side overturning. The bolt tightness at the connection between the hook and the lifting arm should be checked regularly to prevent loosening due to vibration.

  3. Load Limit
Overloading is strictly prohibited. The rated load of the hook should have a safety margin (usually not exceeding 80% of the rated value). During lifting, the load should be kept balanced to prevent hook deformation due to eccentric loading.
