Container House Terrace Design Drawing

Admin September 16, 2026

Currently, there are no directly available design drawings for container house terraces, but design ideas and key points can be provided based on relevant cases and structural characteristics.

I. Basic Structural Layout When using a standard container body as the main structure, the terrace design needs to be closely integrated with the container space. For common double-story container modular homestays with terraces, a steel-wood combined staircase is usually installed on the side to lead to the top-floor terrace. The staircase location should be chosen in a relatively open area on the side of the container that does not affect other functional areas, ensuring smooth passage and not compromising the overall structural stability of the container. An entrance porch with a sunshade roof extending from the front of the container can serve as a transitional area between the terrace and the indoor space. It is recommended that the porch width be controlled at around 1.5 - 2 meters, which can meet daily entry and exit needs while providing some sunshade and rain protection functions.

II. Terrace Functional Zoning If the container roof is transformed into a double-story terrace, the bottom floor can be used as a leisure activity area, where some lightweight outdoor tables and chairs can be placed for people to rest and chat on a daily basis. The top floor can be designed as a viewing area, with lounge chairs placed for people to enjoy tea and the scenery on weekends. At the same time, a small pool can be dug on the top-floor terrace for cooling off in summer. However, attention should be paid to proper waterproofing to avoid damage to the container body. The size of the pool can be determined according to the actual area of the terrace and needs, and generally, a diameter of around 1 - 2 meters is more appropriate.

III. Safety Protection Measures The top-floor terrace must be equipped with protective railings, and the height of the railings should be no less than 1.1 meters to ensure personnel safety. The railing material can be stainless steel or aluminum alloy, which are sturdy and durable. At the same time, attention should be paid to not having too large a gap between the railings to prevent children from climbing or objects from falling. In addition, the terrace floor should be made slip-resistant, and slip-resistant tiles or mats can be used to prevent people from slipping in rainy or humid conditions.

IV. Sunshade and Drainage Design A sunshade roof can be installed above the terrace, and a retractable sunshade can be chosen to flexibly adjust the sunshade area according to different weather and times. The material of the sunshade roof can be selected from materials with good sun and rain protection properties, such as sunshine boards or color steel plates. At the same time, proper drainage design for the terrace should be carried out, with drainage channels installed at the edges of the terrace to promptly drain rainwater and prevent water accumulation from damaging the terrace.
