Sun and Heat Prevention for Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

Container houses can achieve sun and heat prevention through methods such as optimizing structural design, selecting thermal insulation materials, and adding temperature control equipment. Details are as follows:

Optimizing Structural Design

  • Three-Layer Key Structure: The outer layer uses anti-corrosion color-coated steel plates to reflect sunlight. The middle layer is equipped with a polyurethane foam layer over 50mm thick to block heat conduction. The inner layer employs fire-resistant gypsum boards combined with moisture-proof films to jointly control humidity and stabilize temperature. This structure results in a wall heat transfer coefficient of ≤0.45W/(㎡·K), with a thermal insulation efficiency 1.8 times that of traditional brick-and-concrete walls. In summer, the cabin warms up 22 minutes slower than the outdoors, and in winter, the indoor temperature drops by only 1.3℃ after being sealed for 8 hours, providing a more stable body feel.
  • Double-Layer Container and Ventilation Design: Adopting a double-layer container structure, paired with adjustable sunshades and bottom ventilation slots, utilizes air circulation to lower indoor temperature. For example, a café in Mogan Mountain uses this design, allowing the interior to remain comfortable without air conditioning even under direct afternoon sunlight.
  • Window and Door Optimization: Selecting double- or triple-glazed windows to reduce the heat transfer coefficient; adding sealing strips around windows and doors to minimize heat leakage and enhance thermal insulation.

Selecting Thermal Insulation Materials

  • Sandwich Panels: Using sandwich panels with aluminum foil reflective layers to enhance sunlight reflection and reduce heat absorption.
  • Polystyrene Boards, Rock Wool Boards: These materials have low thermal conductivity and good thermal insulation properties, effectively blocking heat transfer. For example, adding external insulation layers or internal thermal insulation boards to the exterior or interior walls of container houses forms a thermal insulation barrier.
  • Increasing Foam Thickness: Increasing the thickness of polystyrene foam during construction to enhance thermal insulation.

Adding Temperature Control Equipment

  • Air Conditioning and Air Curtains: Installing air conditioning to regulate indoor temperature, and using air curtains at entrances to block direct air exchange between indoors and outdoors, reducing heat loss.
  • Graphene Floor Heating: Using graphene floor heating for warmth in winter.
  • Solar Systems: Utilizing solar photovoltaic panels for power supply and solar water heaters for heating and water supply, combined with sewage treatment systems to achieve water resource recycling, which is both environmentally friendly and energy-efficient.
