Container House Self-Installation
Container houses can be self-installed, but certain conditions must be met and operations should be carried out with caution.

I. Possibility of Self-Installation
Some types of container houses can be self-installed, such as mobile folding container houses. Their design facilitates transportation and assembly. Usually, multiple units can be transported in one vehicle, and installation can be completed by just two people through simple pulling and pushing operations. They have relatively low requirements for the foundation and can be quickly moved in and out of the site. However, these houses have relatively simple functions and are suitable for temporary scenarios with low requirements for living conditions.
II. Limitations of Self-Installation
- High Technical Requirements: The installation of fixed container houses involves multiple technical aspects such as structural mechanics, ground engineering, and waterproofing. For example, ground treatment needs to provide a uniform load-bearing foundation for the container house. If placed directly on soft soil, it will lead to uneven settlement of the box, causing problems such as deformation of doors and windows and cracks in the walls. The correct approach is to clear the surface soil and debris, compact the original soil layer, and for long-term fixed use of the box, a concrete strip foundation should also be poured.
- High Safety Risks: The lifting of container houses requires the use of steel wire ropes with sufficient load-bearing capacity and ensures that all lifting points are subjected to synchronous force to avoid box distortion caused by unilateral force. After the box is in place, the fit between the bottom beam and the foundation pad should be checked. If there is local suspension, thin steel sheets should be used to pad it solid. Otherwise, the floor will vibrate or make abnormal noises due to uneven force during subsequent use.
- Difficult to Guarantee Quality: Self-installation may affect the quality and performance of the container house due to non-standard operations. For example, if the coating process is not properly handled, the box is prone to rust in areas with large temperature differences between day and night and significant humidity changes. If the design of insulation, ventilation, and drainage is unreasonable, it will affect the comfort of living.
III. Necessity of Professional Installation
Regular container house manufacturers usually offer services that include both product purchase and installation. Professional installers have rich experience and expertise, ensuring that the installation process complies with technical specifications and guarantees the structural safety and performance of the container house.
