Rust Prevention Requirements for Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

The rust prevention requirements for container houses mainly include aspects such as material selection, construction techniques, response to usage environments, and regular maintenance.

Material Selection: It is advisable to choose steel structures with a thickness that meets standards, such as thickened galvanized square tube frames. The galvanizing process effectively prevents rust and is suitable for outdoor open environments. Avoid using thin-walled ordinary steel or low-quality steel, as these materials have simplistic anti-corrosion treatments and are prone to rusting and deformation after just two or three years of use.

Construction Techniques: During the construction phase, all cut and welded edges must be polished smooth and coated with epoxy primer and topcoat. If shortcuts are taken in this step, rusting is inevitable in the later stages. Additionally, it is essential to ensure the quality of the welding process. Fully welded structures offer greater overall stability and can reduce the risk of rusting.

Response to Usage Environments: Appropriate rust prevention measures should be taken according to different usage environments. For example, in areas with heavy rainfall and strong winds, anti-corrosion treatments should be strengthened accordingly. In humid southern regions, the cycle for heavy anti-corrosion and repainting should be shortened to 7-10 years. In coastal areas, where salt spray corrosion is severe, the cycle for heavy anti-corrosion and repainting should be further shortened to 3-5 years. Moreover, the container body should not be placed directly on the ground; the foundation should be elevated to prevent the bottom from being soaked in moisture, thereby reducing the likelihood of rusting.

Regular Maintenance: Annual inspections should be conducted on the welds, corners, bottoms, and eaves of the container house. If small rust spots are found, they should be immediately polished and repainted without delay. Additionally, based on the usage environment and the condition of the coating, comprehensive heavy anti-corrosion and repainting work should be carried out regularly to extend the service life of the container house.
