Container House Roof Welding

Admin September 15, 2026

The welding of container house roofs requires selecting an appropriate method based on the type of container body structure. The roof of a welded integral container is formed by integral welding in the factory, while the roof of a assembled container is mostly connected with bolts, and the roof with special design can also be installed with bolts. Details are as follows:

Welded integral container roof: For commonly seen welded integral containers on the market, the roof load is transferred through the side wall columns to the bottom sills and then evenly distributed to the ground via the bottom sills. This structure is formed by integral welding in the factory, with a direct load-bearing path and strong resistance to deformation, making it suitable for frequent lifting and moving. The roof is connected as a whole with side walls, columns, and other components through welding processes in the factory. During welding, it is necessary to ensure full welds without cold welds to guarantee the structural stability and safety.

Assembled container roof: Assembled containers use standard panels connected with bolts, and their roofs are usually also installed with bolts. For example, a portable container roof is installed on the support plates of the container house, including corner fittings, crossbeams, and covering panels. The crossbeams are bolted to the corner fittings, and the covering panels are placed over the corner fittings and crossbeams, with the roof installed through bolt connections. This method solves the problems of large volume and heavy weight of welded components, which are inconvenient for transportation and on-site handling and assembly.

Roof with special design: Some container house roofs adopt special designs, such as raising the roof for heat insulation. The installation methods for these roofs may vary depending on the design, but they usually also take into account the need for easy installation and removal, possibly using bolt connections or other detachable connection methods to improve construction efficiency and roof maintainability.
