Installation of Roof Panels for Container Houses
The installation of roof panels for container houses should be carried out in accordance with the following standardized steps, taking into account their metal material properties and spatial constraints:

1. Measurement and Marking
Use a tape measure to accurately measure the length, width, and ceiling height of the roof to ensure precise data. Mark horizontal lines on the container frame or surrounding walls using a level and pencil as reference lines for subsequent installation. This step requires repeated calibration to avoid uneven panel installation due to reference deviations.
2. Installation of Edge Trims
Based on the marked horizontal lines, drill holes in the container frame using an electric drill (the hole diameter should match the expansion bolts). After installing the expansion bolts, secure the edge trims (such as L-shaped or U-shaped trim strips). The edge trims must remain horizontal; otherwise, there will be height differences at the panel joints. If the container surface is made of metal, prioritize using self-tapping screws or special adhesives for fixation to prevent loosening due to vibration.
3. Fixing of Brackets/Joists
- Bracket Installation: If the roof lacks load-bearing structures, first fix metal angle irons or dedicated ceiling brackets, adjusting the spacing according to the panel size (usually 300-600mm). The brackets should be perpendicular to the container frame and checked for flatness using a level.
- Joist Installation: If a joist system is used, hang the main joists from the brackets using connectors, and adjust the spacing of the secondary joists to match the panel specifications (e.g., 300mm spacing for 300×300mm panels). After joist installation, recheck with a level to avoid joist tilting due to container deformation.
4. Installation of Panels
Starting from one corner of the roof, insert the panels into the locking mechanisms of the joists or brackets in the designed order, pressing firmly to ensure a tight fit. If cutting the panels is necessary (e.g., to fit edges or corners), use dedicated cutting tools (such as angle grinders or utility knives) and leave a 2-3mm expansion gap. The installation order should proceed from the center outward to minimize error accumulation.
5. Adjustment and Fixation
After installation, check the overall flatness and use a straightedge to inspect whether the gaps are uniform. Adjust any uneven areas and then fix the edge trims to the panels using screws to ensure stability. If the container is used in humid environments, prioritize using waterproof panels such as aluminum alloy and apply sealant at the joints to prevent water infiltration.
Precautions:
- Safety Protection: Since container roofs are at a considerable height, use a sturdy ladder and wear a safety helmet to prevent falls.
- Material Adaptation: For metal surfaces, choose rust-resistant screws or special adhesives to prevent loosening after long-term use.
- Moisture Prevention: In humid environments, increase ventilation design and regularly inspect the panel sealability.
Specific operations should be adjusted according to the design drawings of the container house and the product manual of the panels.
