Container House Roof Material

Admin September 15, 2026

Common materials for container house roofs include steel, fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), aluminum alloy panels, and sandwich panels, among others. Details are as follows:

Steel roof panels: These are a more traditional choice, commonly found in standard containers. They are typically made of high-quality cold-rolled steel (SPCC) or galvanized steel, with a thickness ranging from 1.0 to 2.0mm. For example, the five-wave round-head roof panels for standard container accessories sold directly by manufacturers are made of steel. They are welded onto the container top, which is supported by the top beam and side beams, providing basic coverage for the container. Their advantages lie in their high strength, enabling them to withstand significant loads, making them suitable for scenarios requiring high structural strength. However, steel roof panels are relatively heavy, and if anti-corrosion treatment is not adequate during long-term use, they are susceptible to rusting due to environmental factors.

Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) roof panels: These are characterized by their lightweight and high strength, as well as properties such as resistance to yellowing, ultraviolet rays, and impact. There are various types of FRP container roof panels available on the market, such as lightweight high-strength FRP skylight panels and high-performance FRP panels. These products are not only suitable for container houses but also for tank containers, dry van truck bodies, greenhouse factory roofs, and other fields. The advantages of FRP roof panels include their lightweight nature, which reduces the overall weight of the container house, facilitating transportation and installation. Additionally, their excellent weather resistance and corrosion resistance enable them to maintain good performance in various harsh environments.

Aluminum alloy panel roofs: These are made from aluminum alloy sheets that are processed through cutting, bending, and welding, with a fluorocarbon coating applied to the surface. For example, aluminum alloy panels for container buildings and movable container houses have advantages such as good weather resistance, smooth and flat panel surfaces, good gloss, and high hardness. Aluminum alloy panel roofs not only have good decorative properties but also provide certain structural support for container houses. They are relatively lightweight, highly corrosion-resistant, and have a long service life.

Sandwich panel roofs: In some container houses, sandwich panels are used for the roof, such as applying a double treatment of waterproof coating and insulation layer on a rock wool sandwich panel roof. Sandwich panels have good sound insulation and heat insulation properties, enhancing the living comfort of container houses.
