Container House Renovation Structure Diagram

Admin September 17, 2026

Currently, there are no directly available container house renovation structure diagrams, but some structural points for container house renovation can be sorted out based on the plan or layout descriptions of some renovation cases.

Splicing Methods and Size Planning

Common container house renovations adopt a splicing approach. For example, Guangzhou Jinge Company's 40-foot container house splices three containers together, resulting in dimensions of 11.8m * 6.75m * 2.8m, with a usable area of 80 square meters. Each 40-foot unit has dimensions of 11.8m * 2.25m * 2.8m. This splicing method can flexibly expand the usable area of the house, allowing the number and arrangement of containers to be determined according to actual needs, such as horizontal splicing, vertical splicing, or a combination of both. When planning the dimensions, it is essential to fully consider the functional zoning of the interior space and the comfort of occupant movement to ensure that each area has sufficient space.

Functional Zoning Layout

  • Living Room, Dining Room, and Kitchen: In some cases, two containers are spliced together, and the living room, dining room, and kitchen are integrated. This design makes the space more open and enhances interaction among family members. When planning the layout, it is important to ensure a reasonable workflow in the kitchen and provide a transition between the dining room and living room to avoid functional interference.
  • Bedrooms: The number of bedrooms is set according to needs, such as the two bedrooms in the aforementioned case. The bedroom layout should focus on privacy and comfort, with careful planning of the positions of beds, wardrobes, and other furniture to ensure sufficient activity space.
  • Bathroom: The bathroom can be designed with a bathtub to meet different bathing needs. When planning the layout, consider the direction of water supply and drainage pipes to ensure the normal use of bathroom facilities. Additionally, proper waterproofing should be done to prevent leakage issues.

Special Shape Design

In addition to conventional splicing methods, unique shape designs are also possible. For example, a rural house in South Korea has two overlapping containers installed on the roof, adding a sense of hierarchy and three-dimensionality to the house. There is also a star-shaped house composed of several containers, featuring an inclined design where each container serves as a separate space with an area of approximately 200 square meters. These special shapes not only have aesthetic appeal but also make full use of natural lighting and ventilation according to different orientations and angles, improving living comfort.
