Container House Panel Installation

Admin September 17, 2026

Container house panel installation is typically included in the installation steps for roof and exterior wall facilities and is a key part of constructing a stable house structure.

Installation Timing and Preliminary Preparations

The installation of container house panels should be carried out after the basic framework is constructed and the main container structure is secured. Specifically, the positioning, splicing, and reinforcement of the containers must be completed first to ensure overall structural stability. Subsequently, window and door frames are installed according to design requirements to reserve accurate positions for subsequent panel installation. Before installing the roof panels, it is necessary to check the flatness and perpendicularity of the roof trusses to avoid improper panel splicing or uneven stress distribution due to structural deviations.

Roof Panel Installation Process

  1. Roof Truss Installation: Fix the roof trusses (such as steel trusses or light steel joists) on the top frame of the container, ensuring that the truss spacing meets design requirements (usually 600-1200mm) and connecting them firmly to the main structure using bolts or welding.
  2. Roof Panel Laying: Select the installation method based on the panel material (such as color-coated steel sheets, metal composite panels, or anti-corrosion wooden panels). For metal panels, lay them sequentially from the ridge to the eaves, securing them to the roof trusses with self-tapping screws. The screw spacing should be controlled between 200-300mm, with denser fixation at the edges to prevent leakage.
  3. Sealing Treatment: Apply waterproof sealant at panel joints, ridges, and eaves, and install dedicated waterproof covers or flashing pieces to ensure that rainwater cannot penetrate the structure.

Exterior Wall Panel Installation Points

  1. Positioning and Fixing: Exterior wall panels should be installed from the bottom up. After calibrating the perpendicularity with a level, fix them to the container frame using rivets or self-tapping screws. A gap of 3-5mm should be reserved at panel joints to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes.
  2. Window and Door Opening Treatment: When installing panels up to window and door positions, cut the panels according to the reserved frames and install dedicated trim pieces to ensure that the opening edges are flat and well-sealed.
  3. Pipeline Embedding: If electrical wires or water pipes need to be installed, reserve holes or sleeves before fixing the panels to avoid damaging the panel structure by drilling later.

Subsequent Completion and Inspection

After completing the panel installation, check that all fixing points are secure and that joints are sealed, and clean up surface debris. Finally, install skylights, rainwater pipes, and other ancillary facilities to ensure that the drainage system operates smoothly. During inspection, focus on checking the wind pressure resistance of the roof panels and the waterproofing of the exterior walls. The sealing effect can be verified through a water spray test.
