On-site Construction of Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

The on-site construction of container houses mainly includes steps such as selection, foundation construction, lifting and installation, connection and fixation, interior decoration, and acceptance.

  1. Selection Stage: Choose the appropriate type of container house based on the usage scenario and requirements. Common types include welded integral containers and bolt-connected modular containers. Welded containers are formed by integral welding in the factory, with strong resistance to deformation and suitable for frequent lifting and movement; modular containers use standard panels connected by bolts. When selecting, check the steel wall thickness of the columns and bottom beams, with common specifications ranging from 1.5 mm to 3 mm. The thicker the wall, the greater the load-bearing redundancy.

  2. Foundation Construction: The installation of container houses requires a flat and sturdy foundation. Foundation construction includes ground leveling, hardening treatment, and possible installation of embedded parts to ensure the stability and safety of the container house.

  3. Lifting and Installation: Use lifting equipment such as cranes to lift the container house to the predetermined location. During the lifting process, ensure that the container house is placed steadily and slowly on the foundation to avoid collisions and damage.

  4. Connection and Fixation: Connection and fixation are required between container houses or between a container house and its foundation. This is usually achieved through bolt connections, welding, or the use of specialized connectors to ensure the stability and wind and earthquake resistance of the overall structure. Some fully steel-structured frame container houses can withstand wind speeds of up to Level 12 and meet relevant seismic resistance standards.

  5. Interior Decoration: According to usage requirements, carry out interior decoration of the container house, including water and electricity installation, wall and floor treatment, door and window installation, etc. Some container houses have completed part of the interior decoration in the factory, and only simple connections and debugging are required on-site.

  6. Acceptance Stage: After construction is completed, a comprehensive acceptance inspection is required, including structural stability inspection, water and electricity function testing, and airtightness inspection. Ensure that the container house meets relevant standards and requirements before it can be put into use.
