Odor-Free Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

Odor-free situations in container houses usually occur in products that have been used for a long time or are of high quality. New container houses may have a slight odor due to materials, but this can be removed through various methods.

I. Reasons for Odors in New Container Houses
The odor in new container houses mainly comes from materials such as glue and wall panels used during production. If suppliers choose lower-quality raw materials to reduce costs, the risk of odor increases significantly. For example, low-priced products may use inferior glue or wall panels, resulting in noticeable odors after installation. In contrast, container houses produced by large manufacturers, with higher process and technical requirements, generally have better material quality and milder odor issues.

II. Reasons for Odor-Free Old Container Houses
Old container houses that have undergone multiple turnovers, exposure to sunlight, and ventilation have mostly released the volatile substances in their internal materials, resulting in less odor. If you are sensitive to odors, choosing to rent or buy an old container house is a more prudent option.

III. Methods to Remove Odors from Container Houses

  1. Open Windows for Ventilation: Maintaining air circulation by opening doors and windows can effectively reduce indoor odor concentration. This is the most basic and cost-free method of odor removal.
  2. Place Potted Plants: Plants such as pothos, mint, and cacti can absorb odor molecules in the air while beautifying the environment.
  3. Use Charcoal Packs: Placing activated charcoal packs in the corners of the house can absorb volatile organic compounds. You can directly purchase finished charcoal packs.
  4. Wipe with Cleaning Agents: Wiping walls and floors with odor-removing cleaning agents for several consecutive days can remove paint odors and other odors.
  5. Saltwater Odor Removal: Add clean water and salt to a large bucket, dilute it, and place it inside the house to significantly reduce paint odors and other pungent smells.

IV. The Relationship Between Quality and Odor
The odor level in container houses is directly related to the product quality of the supplier. Products from large manufacturers have lower odor risks due to their high-quality materials and strict processes, while low-priced products may have heavier odors due to inferior materials. Therefore, choosing a reputable supplier is key to avoiding odor issues.
