Container House: No Need to Rent

Admin September 15, 2026

Container houses can, to a certain extent, eliminate the need for traditional renting, but they come with numerous limitations and conditions.

Advantages:

  • Cost-Effective: In some cases, the rental cost of container houses is extremely low. For instance, some container houses can be rented for as little as 6 yuan per day. Compared to traditional renting methods, this significantly alleviates financial pressure, especially for individuals with limited economic means, such as young people striving in big cities and construction site workers. For construction site project departments, renting container houses for workers to live in saves both time and costs compared to erecting temporary prefabricated houses. Moreover, relocating them after project completion is very convenient, requiring only transportation to move them away.
  • Flexible and Convenient: Container houses are easy to replicate and promote on a large scale. They possess modular combination characteristics, allowing for random combination in three-dimensional space (up to three floors) according to usage needs. They can be designed into various styles, such as side-by-side office layouts, villa-style living arrangements, personalized overlapping designs, and hotel-like configurations, meeting the usage requirements of different scenarios. Additionally, their setup and dismantling speeds are fast, typically taking only 15 minutes for setup, and natural dismantling is equally swift. They can be flexibly adjusted in position and usage method according to actual needs.

Disadvantages:

  • Legal Ambiguity: Users often lack the right to use or temporary use of the land where containers are placed. This method of occupying land to place containers may not be permitted, similar to illegal street parking, and carries legal risks.
  • Poor Living Comfort: Containers placed outdoors can become extremely hot inside due to prolonged exposure to the sun in summer, affecting living comfort. Although some modification measures can be taken to improve this, they increase costs and modification difficulties.
  • Limited Supporting Facilities: Some container houses have incomplete supporting facilities. For example, taking a bath is currently not possible and needs to be resolved independently, causing inconvenience to occupants.
