Container House Leakage

Admin September 15, 2026

Container house leakage can be caused by various factors such as improper materials, construction, and maintenance. Details are as follows:

Material factors: If the waterproof materials selected during the construction of the container house are unqualified or the materials age, it can lead to house leakage. For example, if the waterproof materials selected during the construction of a mobile house are unqualified or the waterproof treatment is unreasonable, leakage is likely to occur as the mobile container house ages.

Construction factors:

  • Construction process issues: During installation and use, if the roof is stepped on, causing the fasteners to loosen, and the waterproof pads of the fasteners age, leakage will occur at the fasteners. When holes are drilled in the panels of the mobile house to install fans, exhaust pipes, etc., if the waterproof treatment of the surrounding cracks is not good, during use, as the house panels deform, the cracks at the joints expand, damaging the original waterproof treatment and also causing leakage. If the gutter of the mobile house has no horizontal slope, the gutter outlet is designed unreasonably, or the gutter anti-corrosion is inadequate, leading to rust and erosion, and debris blocks the outlet, it will result in leakage or backflow. If the structural adhesive at the joints at both ends of the iron sheet layer on the top of the box-type house is not applied well and the moisture-proof film is not properly adhered and sealed, leakage will also occur.
  • Construction quality issues: Some unscrupulous construction teams, when providing on-site maintenance services, do not conduct a complete inspection but directly apply paint or lay coiled materials on the surface of the original waterproof layer. If the base layer is not cleaned properly, and the hollow and bulging parts of the old waterproof layer are not removed, the new and old waterproof layers cannot be tightly bonded. The newly applied waterproof layer will soon bulge and peel off, allowing rainwater to continue to penetrate inward.

Maintenance factors: During use, due to external conditions, wind loads, snow loads, thermal expansion and contraction, etc., the panels of the mobile house deform, damaging the original waterproof treatment and leading to leakage.
