Container House Layout Position Map
Admin September 16, 2026
Currently, there is no direct container house layout position map available, but common layout positions and design points of container houses can be summarized based on cases:

Common Layout Positions
- Forests or Suburbs: For example, a 15㎡ container home transformed by a couple is located deep in the forest, utilizing the natural environment to create a free and cozy living atmosphere. A 45㎡ container villa in Lincoln City is situated in the suburbs, with vast land resources. It is stacked into a two-story form through reasonable design and layout.
- Mountainous or Hilly Areas: The Casa oruga container residence in the Andes Mountains of Chile is built along the natural slope of the mountains, integrating the architectural space with the slope. The upward lines on the exterior add a natural scenic feature, and external air can circulate through all parts of the living space, eliminating the need for additional cooling equipment.
- Urban Peripheries or Specific Functional Areas: The container buildings at Duoli Farm in Shanghai serve as a new landmark for the vegetable production base. They integrate functions such as the lobby, reception, office, VIP area, and food packaging. The irregular arrangement of containers adapts to various needs and creates a rich space.
Design Points
- Space Utilization: According to the size and shape of containers, reasonably divide functional areas such as the living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. An integrated design can be adopted to reduce spatial barriers. For example, the bedroom can use a custom-made foldable bed, which can serve as a sofa when half-folded. The kitchen can use a linear design to save space and be equipped with a large amount of storage space to ensure cleanliness and convenience.
- Ventilation and Lighting: Set appropriate windows, doors, and skylights to ensure good indoor ventilation and lighting. For example, small round windows can be installed in all rooms to connect small rooms with the surrounding landscape. Large-scale floor-to-ceiling windows and roof skylight designs provide excellent lighting, and triple-glazed windows have better insulation effects than red brick walls.
- Exterior Treatment: Perform anti-corrosion treatment on the exterior of containers, spray heat-insulating and anti-corrosion coatings, and match them with wooden and black wrought iron frames to enhance the visual effect. For example, spraying white heat-insulating and anti-corrosion coatings on the exterior of containers and matching them with wooden and black wrought iron frames create a modern and warm feeling.
