Container House Kitchen Renovation
When renovating a kitchen in a container house, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as space utilization, functional layout, lighting, and style design.

In terms of space utilization, container houses have limited space, so kitchen design should focus on saving space. A linear kitchen is a common and effective design approach. It is laid out along one side of the container, not interfering with daily cooking while allowing the empty spaces above, below, and on the sides to be made into cabinets, increasing storage space and meeting the needs for storing kitchen items. For example, in a foreigner's renovated 15-square-meter mini home, the kitchen adopts a linear design, with the visible areas filled with double-door cabinets and open shelves, facilitating the placement of cookware and tableware.
Regarding functional layout, it is essential to reasonably plan the various functional areas of the kitchen. Compress the kitchen to one end of the container to form a wet area, which is relatively independent from other areas, facilitating cleaning and waterproofing. At the same time, consider the planning of water and electricity positions, and reserve sockets and water pipe connections in advance to facilitate the use of kitchen appliances and water supply. For instance, in the design of the double-wing expandable container house produced by Yashun Light Steel for a Chilean project, the kitchen's water and electricity positions were planned in the early stages.
In terms of lighting, the high thermal conductivity coefficient of the container's metal material and the fact that the backlit area of the kitchen countertop can easily become a blind spot for storage and cleaning. Flexible and intelligent supplementary lighting tools can be installed, such as lamps with hand-sweep induction technology. These do not require complex wiring and can be easily attached to positions like the bottom of hanging cabinets. The light is soft and uniform, with a high color rendering index, which can truly restore the natural color of food ingredients, solve lighting problems, and improve cooking efficiency and safety.
Regarding style design, the kitchen style can be determined according to personal preferences and the overall living style. A minimalist style is a good choice, focusing on simple lines and practical functions, which aligns well with the industrial feel of container houses. For example, in some container renovation cases, the kitchen uses simple light strip lighting paired with natural wood-colored cabinets, creating a simple and comfortable atmosphere.
