Interior Wall Panels for Container Houses

Admin September 17, 2026

Common materials and types of interior wall panels for container houses include metal profiled wall panels, composite sandwich wall panels, bamboo-wood fiber panels, and other special-function wall panels, with the following specific characteristics:

Metal profiled wall panels are formed through stamping processes using cold-rolled steel sheets or galvanized steel sheets as base materials, with thicknesses ranging from 0.7mm to 2.0mm. Common specifications include 1.0mm, 1.2mm, and 1.5mm. Their core advantages lie in high strength, low cost, and ease of construction. The surface can be coated or treated for corrosion resistance to enhance durability. Due to the high thermal conductivity of metal materials, these panels have relatively weak thermal insulation performance and are thus more suitable for scenarios with low thermal performance requirements, such as temporary offices, dormitories, and warehouses on construction sites, which are short-term or low-budget projects.

Composite sandwich wall panels adopt a composite structure of "metal panels + thermal insulation cores", with total thicknesses typically ranging from 50mm to 100mm. Common specifications include 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm. Metal panels are often made of color-coated steel sheets or galvanized sheets, while core materials include rock wool, polyurethane (PU), EPS (expanded polystyrene foam), etc. These panels integrate structural support, thermal insulation, waterproofing, and moisture resistance and offer high installation efficiency, making them the mainstream choice for packing-box houses and high-end temporary buildings. Among them, rock wool cores have Class A fire resistance, polyurethane cores offer excellent thermal insulation, and EPS cores are cost-effective, allowing users to choose flexibly based on actual needs.

Bamboo-wood fiber panels are made from natural fibers such as bamboo powder and wood powder through high-temperature extrusion, featuring environmental friendliness, moisture resistance, and ease of cleaning. In a practical case, a prefabricated housing project in Fengxian County adopted bamboo-wood fiber interior wall panels and reserved installation positions for light switches and sockets, enabling direct tile laying in the later stage and demonstrating their compatibility of decorative and functional features. This material is suitable for scenarios with high indoor environment requirements, such as homestays and office spaces.

Other types of wall panels include cement-bonded particle boards, fire-resistant silicate boards, and bathroom waterproof wall panels. For example, cement-bonded particle boards, with cement as the base material, have high strength and fire and moisture resistance; fire-resistant silicate boards can meet Class A fire resistance standards and are suitable for places with strict fire safety requirements; bathroom waterproof wall panels achieve long-term water resistance through special coatings or materials. These products are mostly developed for specific needs, with significant differences in price and performance, requiring selection based on specific scenarios.
