Container House Interior Wall Decoration

Admin September 17, 2026

There are various methods and material options for the interior wall decoration of container houses, which can be matched according to needs, preferences, and economic capabilities.

Common Structural Methods

  1. Metal Paint + Galvanized Corrugated Sheet + Insulation Layer + Decorative Panels
From the outside in, it consists of a metal paint coating, galvanized corrugated sheets (customizable thickness), polyurethane foam (for insulation and preventing condensation, not mandatory), insulation rock wool, a steel stud frame, and finally covered with bamboo-wood fiber panels or other decorative panels (such as wood veneer). This approach balances structural strength and decorative appeal, suitable for scenarios with high insulation requirements.
  2. Metal Paint + Galvanized Corrugated Sheet + Multiple Base Layers + Latex Paint
The structure is similar to the first one, but after the steel studs, it adds a base layer of woodworking board or OSB board, followed by a gypsum board base layer. Rust-proof paste is used locally to treat metal connections, and finally, latex paint is applied. This method offers high surface flatness, suitable for scenarios requiring a simple wall finish, but the process is relatively complex.
  3. Wood Stud Frame + Insulation Cotton + Original Wood Panel Wrapping
First, construct a wood stud frame, fill it with insulation cotton, and then wrap the walls, ceiling, and floor with original wood panels. This approach highlights a natural style but requires attention to wood moisture-proofing, suitable for scenarios pursuing an original or rustic style.

Specialized Material Selection

  • Fireproof Board: Specifically designed for container houses, it has excellent fire resistance (usually meeting Class A non-combustible standards), along with weather resistance, a smooth and flat surface, and a variety of colors and patterns. It is easy to install and has low maintenance costs, making it one of the most widely used wall materials in container renovations.
  • Paint and Wallpaper: If the budget is limited, the wall surface can be cleaned and sanded, then directly painted with eco-friendly paint to create an atmosphere through color matching; or wallpaper and stickers can be applied to add personalized design elements. This approach is cost-effective but requires ensuring the flatness of the wall base layer.

Design Recommendations

  • Insulation Needs: In cold regions, it is recommended to use a double-layer insulation structure of polyurethane foam + rock wool to avoid condensation issues.
  • Fire Safety: For public places or long-term living scenarios, prioritize fireproof boards or materials that meet fire safety standards.
  • Style Consistency: The colors of decorative panels and paint should coordinate with the overall style of the floor, furniture, etc., to avoid visual conflicts.
