Interior Construction of Container Houses

Admin September 17, 2026

The interior construction process of container houses mainly includes the following steps:

Step 1: Basic Structure Modification and Door/Window Installation
At the beginning of construction, the container needs to be segmented and cut to adjust the spatial layout according to design requirements. Subsequently, aluminum alloy windows and glass doors are installed to ensure lighting and ventilation performance. During this stage, precise measurement of door and window sizes is necessary to ensure a tight seal with the container frame, preventing issues such as air leakage and water seepage in the later stages.

Step 2: Interior Structure Construction and Hidden Electrical and Plumbing Works
Light steel keels are used to punch holes along the container's iron sheet and fixed to form an interior support frame. Electrical and plumbing lines need to be pre-embedded simultaneously, with switches, sockets, and exhaust duct interfaces reserved at key positions. The exhaust ducts need to extend from the top of the container to the outdoors to ensure ventilation efficiency; pressure testing is required after the installation of electrical and plumbing lines to verify their tightness and prevent leakage hazards.

Step 3: Ceiling and Wall Construction
Ceiling construction adopts a layered approach: foam board as the base layer serves as an insulation layer, oriented strand board (OSB) as the facing layer provides structural strength, and flame-baked waterproofing membrane ensures long-term moisture resistance. Wall construction involves three steps: foam adhesive filling the inner side of the keels enhances sound insulation, density paper facing improves flatness, and outer gypsum board sheathing forms the final wall surface. During this stage, strict control over material joint gaps is necessary to prevent cracking.

Step 4: Surface Decoration and Exterior Treatment
Surface decoration is carried out simultaneously indoors and outdoors: indoors, after two coats of putty leveling, latex paint is applied; outdoors, special boards are used to wrap the exterior frame to enhance structural stability. Steel frame structures need to be added around the container windows to create leisure areas or decorative elements, improving space utilization. During this stage, attention should be paid to the weather resistance of materials to ensure they can adapt to outdoor environments.

Summary of Construction Key Points
The entire process should follow the logical sequence of 'structure-piping-decoration,' with a focus on controlling waterproofing, fire resistance, and sound insulation performance. For example, the ceiling waterproofing should use a flame-baked waterproofing membrane and ensure tight integration with the walls; filling the walls with foam adhesive can effectively block sound transmission; electrical and plumbing lines should be marked for easy maintenance in the later stages. The construction period is approximately one week, with drying time reserved for putty and latex paint application to ensure coating adhesion.
