Container House Installation Technology

Admin September 15, 2026

When installing container houses, it is essential to focus on structural stability, installation efficiency, concealed works, and key points for installing special types. Details are as follows:

Structural Stability Installation Technology

The core framework of container houses should be made of high-strength steel, such as Q355B-grade weathering steel, forming a self-balancing system through rigid connections between corner fittings and side beams, reducing the need for additional reinforcement components. For example, the packing-box units from Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. feature a fully steel structural framework, with measured wind resistance up to Level 12 and earthquake resistance up to Level 8. The frame deformation rate is only 0.18%, well below the industry's acceptable threshold of 0.3%. During installation, it is necessary to ensure that the weld strength complies with the GB/T 19001-2016 standard. Bolted connection nodes should adopt a dual-fixing mode of 'wedge lock + high-strength bolts' to enhance the self-locking effect under horizontal shear forces and reduce deformation risks.

Installation Efficiency Optimization Technology

Modular design can significantly improve installation efficiency. For instance, Zhongnan's quick-assembly containers can be installed in just 2 hours per unit, supporting on-demand splicing and combination, allowing for the construction of 10 standard dormitory units in a single day. Their packing-box units come pre-installed with interiors and facilities at the factory, ready for immediate use upon on-site hoisting. The installation process should be standardized; for example, when installing the bottom frame, first connect the box bottom corners to the bottom beams without tightening the bolts, and then tighten them after alignment (ensuring the diagonal difference of the bottom frame is ≤3mm) to reduce rework rates.

Concealed Works Installation Technology

Concealed works include water installation, electrical installation, moisture-proofing, and waterproofing, which must strictly adhere to regulations. For example, when laying the floor substrate, cut corners according to the chalk line, align the floor joint with the centerline of the π-shaped beam, and space the nails at intervals of 300-350mm. The joint between panels should be sanded and brushed with PVC-specific floor adhesive. After laying the floor covering, expel the air and weld the joint. Electrical installations should use fire-resistant materials, and the moisture-proof layer should adopt a three-layer composite structure of 'rock wool - air layer - aluminized zinc plate', with a thermal conductivity coefficient limited to below 0.040 W/(m·K).

Special Type Container Installation Technology

When installing foldable container mobile homes, first check the stability of the steel wire ropes, hoist and unfold the main framework, place support rods in the middle to maintain stability, and then push open the walls one by one and tighten them with fastening screws, with the entire process taking only 3 minutes. Expandable container houses require the addition of lateral or end expansion modules to the container base, increasing the usable area by 30%-50% upon expansion. During installation, it is necessary to ensure that the connection node strength of the expansion modules matches that of the main framework.
