Container House Installation and Maintenance

Admin September 15, 2026

The installation of container houses must meet performance requirements such as sealing, thermal insulation, waterproofing, fire prevention, and moisture resistance. Maintenance requires regular rust removal and painting, checking the water tightness of joints, and paying attention to electrical safety and drainage insulation. The following are the specific installation and maintenance points:

Installation Technical Requirements

  1. Performance Testing: Before installation, it is necessary to test the sealing, thermal insulation, waterproofing, fire resistance, and moisture resistance of the container. For example, steel-sealed containers have strong earthquake and wind resistance capabilities, but it is essential to ensure that the materials comply with fire safety regulations (such as the strong flame retardancy of the steel main body) to avoid the production of toxic gases during fires.
  2. Concealed Works: Water and electricity installation, as well as moisture and waterproofing, must be carried out strictly. Electrical wires must be isolated from steel components through conduits or wire troughs to prevent electric shocks. The drainage system requires the excavation of drainage ditches around the container body, with a gable-shaped canopy installed on top. The ground level should be higher than the surrounding area to avoid water accumulation and moisture.
  3. Structural Stability: Container houses are connected by integral steel components, and the layout or disassembly of bolt components must not be altered without authorization after installation. For example, the Suzhou Zhongnan Quick-Assembly Container adopts a full steel structure frame with a wind resistance rating of up to Level 12, complying with the GB50011-2010 seismic code. However, professional team guidance is required for installation to ensure stability.

Maintenance Points

  1. Regular Inspection and Repair: Steel components require rust removal and painting every 1-2 years to maintain their appearance and durability. Regularly inspect joints, water tightness, and electrical safety. Cut off the power supply before performing maintenance and avoid using high-power electrical appliances.
  2. Thermal Insulation: Container houses have poor inherent thermal insulation properties and require the addition of soundproof cotton, thermal insulation cotton, and the installation of air conditioners. For example, construction site containers need to reduce indoor temperatures through thermal insulation layers in summer to prevent workers from suffering heatstroke.
  3. Environmental Adaptation: The service life is affected by quality and the environment. Custom-made container houses can be used for more than 30 years, but humid environments can shorten their lifespan, while desert environments may extend it. It is necessary to choose anti-corrosion materials or strengthen foundation treatment according to the usage scenario.

Safety Precautions

  1. Electrical Safety Regulations: Electrical wires must not be directly tied to steel components and must be isolated through conduits. Open flame stoves are prohibited indoors to prevent fires.
  2. Structural Protection: Avoid randomly drilling holes or adding partitions to the container body to prevent damage to the overall structural stability. For example, non-standard white-label products, due to their use of thin steel materials, have a wind resistance rating of only Level 8 and are prone to collapse during typhoons. It is necessary to choose reputable brands to ensure safety.
