Container House for Food Delivery Riders

Admin September 15, 2026

Container houses provide an economical, convenient, and comfortable living and resting solution for food delivery riders. This is reflected in the following aspects:

Residential Function

Some regions have transformed containers into rider apartments to meet long-term living needs. For example, Chengdu's "Rider Apartment - Jiaozi Jingyu" is renovated from an old building, offering single rooms, Loft duplex double rooms, and simple single and double rooms. The entire apartment is fully furnished with high-end decorations and complete furniture and appliances, allowing riders to move in with just their luggage. Wuhan JD's "Brother's Home" provides free accommodation for full-time riders through a whole-building leasing model, equipped with independent bathrooms, air conditioners, water heaters, washing machines, as well as a reading corner and "family rooms" for visiting relatives, and an independent access control system to ensure safety. These apartments are usually located within business districts or order-taking radii, reducing commuting costs. Moreover, the rent is lower than the market price, such as Chengdu's apartment starting at 300 yuan per month, and Wuhan's project only requiring riders to bear water and electricity fees, significantly alleviating financial burdens.

Temporary Rest Function

Container stations focus on short-term rest needs and achieve rapid deployment through modular design. For example, Shanghai Jiading's "Red Pomegranate" Warm-hearted Station is equipped with air conditioners, refrigerators, microwaves, water dispensers, and charging stations, accommodating 10-15 people simultaneously. Liaoning Jinzhou's "Jinxiu e-Home - Loving Linghe" Station offers air conditioners, seats, emergency medical kits, and free haircuts. Heyuan Yuanxi Street Station combines "basic functions + special modules" to cover a 15-minute service circle, with internal facilities such as first-aid kits and charging sockets. These stations are mostly located in business districts or transportation hubs, addressing riders' pain points such as charging, drinking water, and seeking shelter from the heat and rain while waiting for orders.

Comprehensive Service Function

Some projects integrate living services and community resources to form multifunctional spaces. For example, Beijing Xicheng District's "Domain + Youth Community" apartment introduces a barber shop and a convenience store, with riders enjoying haircut discounts. Linyi Beian Fengjing's "Public Welfare House" provides free lunches every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Shanghai Chengdong Community's "Xingqi Station" integrates rest, charging, learning, and emergency functions, equipped with microwaves, umbrellas, and common medications. These designs not only meet basic needs but also enhance a sense of belonging through humanized details, such as fingerprint recognition for entry and 24-hour hot water supply.
