Container House Floor Repair

Admin September 15, 2026

Container house floor repair requires targeted measures based on the type of house and the condition of the foundation.

I. Foundation Requirements for Different Types of Container Houses

  1. Foldable Container Houses and Fixed Residential Container Houses: These have relatively low foundation requirements. Simply level the ground and they can be placed directly for use. If conditions permit, a cement floor can be poured and drainage ditches can be set up to enhance living comfort.
  2. Packing-Box Container Houses: These have simple foundation requirements. Strip or pier foundations can be used, and in some cases, no special foundation is needed; they can be placed directly on the ground.
  3. Residential Portable Panel Houses: These have higher foundation requirements. A certain area of concrete foundation needs to be poured, and the house should be fixed to the foundation with expansion screws. During demolition, the first-floor concrete foundation usually cannot be reused.

II. Common Problems and Solutions for Container House Floor Repair

  1. Uneven Floor: If there are potholes or slopes on the floor, it needs to be re-leveled. For foldable or fixed container houses, cement or steel plates can be laid directly on the existing floor for leveling; for portable panel houses, a new concrete foundation needs to be poured.
  2. Floor Damage: If there are cracks or breakages on the floor, repairs should be made according to the degree of damage. Minor cracks can be filled with waterproof glue or epoxy resin; severe damage requires the removal of the original floor and the pouring of new concrete or the laying of new flooring.
  3. Drainage Problems: If the floor has poor drainage, the drainage system needs to be optimized. Drainage ditches or slopes can be set up on the floor to ensure that rainwater can drain smoothly and prevent water accumulation from damaging the floor.

III. Repair Precautions

  1. Safety First: Before repair, ensure that the container house is firmly fixed to prevent movement or tipping during the repair process.
  2. Material Selection: Choose appropriate repair materials based on the type of container house and the usage environment. For example, waterproof glue is suitable for waterproofing the roof and floor, and epoxy resin is suitable for filling cracks.
  3. Professional Operation: If the repair involves structural modifications or foundation treatment, it is recommended to contact a professional construction team for operation to ensure repair quality and safety.
