Container House Floor Plan Layout

Admin September 15, 2026

The floor plan layout of container houses varies depending on design requirements, the number of containers, and their combination methods. Here are some common design cases and layout highlights:

1. Layout for Small Guesthouses and Hotels

  • Number and Combination of Containers: Composed of four 6-meter-long containers, with two on the lower level and two on the upper level.
  • Lower-Level Layout: Features sanitary facilities, a technical room, a storage room, and a four-bed guest room.
  • Upper-Level Layout: Includes four guest rooms sharing a common terrace, offering views of the river and surrounding hills.
  • Room Features: All rooms have small round windows connecting them to the surrounding landscape. The walls, ceilings, and custom furniture are made of birch plywood, with rooms distinguished by different colors of natural linoleum, pure black industrial lighting, and decorative details.

2. Layout for Single-Story Luxury Houses

  • Number and Combination of Containers: Two containers are joined to form a single-story structure.
  • Internal Layout: The living room, dining room, and kitchen are integrated, along with two bedrooms and a bathroom with a bathtub.
  • Foundation Design: A pile foundation is used, with containers mounted on piles without direct ground contact, providing moisture and heat insulation.

3. Layout for Four Two-Bedroom Houses (Squirrel Park Project)

  • Number and Combination of Containers: Each house uses four containers. The ground floor consists of two containers, with the other two containers cantilevered three meters higher at one end, creating a sheltered porch below and a first-floor terrace outside the master bedroom.
  • Internal Layout: The ground floor features a kitchen and bathroom beside a corridor, followed by a full-width living space leading to a private courtyard. The upper floor has two bedrooms at each end, with a bathroom in the middle.

4. General Design Considerations

  • Factors to Consider: Design should be based on specific customer needs, building dimensions, functional requirements, and whether the production factory's equipment can provide the necessary materials.
  • Space Utilization: Space can be reasonably divided by打通箱体 (connecting containers) and adding partitions to meet different functional needs.
  • Lighting and Ventilation: Large windows and glass doors can be installed to ensure adequate indoor lighting and ventilation.
