Container House Fire Acceptance

Admin September 15, 2026

During the fire acceptance of container houses, it is essential to focus on the grade of fireproof panels, structural safety, and the implementation of compliance standards to ensure that the combustion performance reaches Grade A and meets local acceptance specifications.

Fireproof Panel Grade as a Core Indicator

According to 'How to Select the Fire Rating for Steel Structure Houses? Key Points for Fire Acceptance of Steel Structure Factories and Portable Panel Houses,' container houses and portable panel dormitories used for residential and office purposes must use Grade A rock wool fireproof panels. Such materials can effectively resist combustion, meet fire inspection requirements, and reduce fire risks. If metal sandwich panels are used, the combustion performance of their core materials must also reach Grade A, avoiding the use of flammable materials like polystyrene.

Simultaneous Acceptance of Structural Safety and Fire Protection Linkage

Fire acceptance not only focuses on materials but also requires inspection of structural safety. For example, the procurement acceptance of energy storage containers explicitly requires that the structural strength of the container body must meet the requirements for equipment installation and maintenance, avoiding structural deformation that could affect the functionality of fire protection equipment. Additionally, if the container is integrated with a fire protection system (such as automatic fire extinguishing devices and smoke detectors), the reliability of its linkage with the battery management system (BMS) and power control system (PCS) must be verified to ensure a rapid response in the event of a fire.

Local Standards Strengthen Quantitative Acceptance Requirements

Different regions have detailed regulations for the fire acceptance of container houses. For example, the T/CECS 1932-2025 'Quality Acceptance Standards for Container Houses' implemented in Shanghai specifies 12 quantitative indicators for the first time, including fire separation and waterproof construction, requiring professional testing of the weld quality of the container body structure and the thickness of fireproof materials. Regions like Hubei emphasize 'process supervision,' requiring temporary building supply chains to complete technological upgrades and phase out old-style portable panel houses that do not meet combustion performance standards.

Installation Qualifications and Service Life Limitations

Fire acceptance also requires verification of the installation unit's qualifications. According to the 'Notice on Strengthening the Safety Management of Temporary Buildings on Construction Sites,' the installation of container-type portable panel houses must be entrusted to professional teams, and the service life of temporary buildings should not exceed 5 years, with a maximum of 10 relocations, to avoid reduced fire protection performance due to aging. Production certificates and installation instructions must be provided upon delivery to ensure full compliance throughout the process.
