Container House Export
Container house exports are showing rapid growth, with China having a significant advantage in this field and becoming an important global exporter.

Export Scale and Growth: In recent years, the export scale of container houses in China has been continuously expanding. In the first four months of 2026, enterprises across the country exported modular buildings worth 1.68 billion yuan through the Shenzhen port, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%, with exports to more than 150 countries and regions. In the first half of 2026, China's total export value of prefabricated buildings under HS code 9406 reached 2.79 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 45%, with steel-structured modular houses being the main export category.
Product Advantages:
- High Construction Efficiency: Container houses break down the entire building into standardized modules. Most of the construction processes, such as the main structure and water and electricity pipelines, are completed in the factory, and then transported to the destination for rapid assembly. Compared with traditional construction methods, the construction period can be shortened by more than 60%. For example, a modular elderly care apartment manufactured in China and purchased by a British merchant took only two weeks from shipment to completion of on-site hoisting and construction.
- Guaranteed Quality: Produced on factory assembly lines, the manufacturing precision is stable. For example, a certain domestic steel-structured modular intelligent production line maintains a stable manufacturing precision of 1 to 2 millimeters.
- Lower Cost: It has cost-saving advantages in terms of labor and materials. Skilled construction workers in Europe and the United States have high hourly wages, and labor can account for 40% of the total project cost, while there are fewer permanent personnel on modular construction sites. The steel waste from standardized CNC cutting in factories is much lower than that on traditional construction sites.
Market Demand and Application Scenarios: Overseas market demand continues to grow rapidly. Purchasing ends such as engineering camps, cultural tourism, and emergency response are paying increasing attention to the recyclability, cross-border compliance, and low-carbon attributes of detachable and relocatable container houses. Their application scenarios are wide-ranging, covering dozens of scenarios such as engineering camps, commercial pop-ups, and temporary government and enterprise buildings, and can also be used to build hotels, schools, hospitals, apartments, and other buildings.
