Container House for Epidemic Prevention
Container houses are mainly used in epidemic prevention and control for the construction of isolation points, temporary storage of medical waste, and temporary accommodation, among other applications. Details are as follows:

I. Construction of Isolation Points
Container houses, known for their rapid deployment and sturdy structure, have become the preferred solution for epidemic prevention isolation points. For example, foldable containers, when folded, are only 45cm high, allowing 20 units to be transported by a single vehicle. During installation, they are lifted by truck-mounted cranes, and professional personnel can complete the installation of a single unit in just 3 minutes. These containers are waterproof and fireproof and can be equipped with toilets, showers, and other facilities. Packing-box units, on the other hand, feature a modular design with expandable walls, allowing four workers to complete installation in three hours and supporting the integration of electrical systems. China Railway Fourth Bureau added 32 container houses as office and living spaces for medical staff during the renovation of a factory building in Jiading District, Shanghai, demonstrating their rapid response capability.
II. Temporary Storage of Medical Waste
Container houses have been transformed into mobile medical waste storage rooms, achieving physical separation from isolation observation points. For instance, Jiujiang Street in Shuangliu District, Chengdu, adopted container-style storage rooms equipped with ultraviolet sterilization devices, protective net exhaust fans, air conditioners, and leak-proof floors. These rooms are connected to air conditioning drainage pipes through a wastewater treatment system and filled with activated carbon to prevent gas pollution. This design ensures the closed storage of medical waste at an appropriate temperature, preventing secondary pollution while supporting high-pressure spray gun disinfection to meet flexible deployment needs in emergency scenarios.
III. Temporary Accommodation and Functional Extension
Container houses can also be used for the renovation of temporary isolation and treatment points. For example, China Railway Fourth Bureau converted an 8,448-square-meter factory building into an isolation point with 1,148 beds, simultaneously completing structural demolition and water and electricity system renovations. Additionally, their applications extend to nucleic acid sampling rooms, packing boxes, and assembled boxes, among others. Companies like Jiangxi Linju Housing Technology Co., Ltd. offer customized services to meet the epidemic prevention and control needs of different regions.
IV. Technological Upgrades and Industry Trends
With the advancement of prefabricated building policies, container houses continue to improve in terms of fire resistance (reaching Class A standards), living comfort (with the addition of fresh air systems), and intelligent control (through IoT management). Some high-end products, through refined decoration and functional zoning design, have achieved a living quality comparable to that of traditional houses, becoming a new choice for young people and emergency scenarios.
