Container House Double Door

Admin September 15, 2026

The standard size of the double door for container houses is 1600 millimeters in width and 2000 millimeters in height. It is commonly found in office buildings or storage scenarios, with the design advantage of providing a larger opening space for easy handling of large items or bidirectional loading and unloading.

Double Door Size Standards and Applicable Scenarios

According to the container house door configuration guide, the standard size of double doors is 1600 millimeters in width and 2000 millimeters in height, doubling the opening area compared to single doors (800 millimeters in width and 2000 millimeters in height). This design is commonly found in office buildings or storage container houses that require frequent handling of large equipment, such as temporary offices on construction sites and logistics transit warehouses. If special requirements need to be met (such as transporting oversized equipment), the door size can be further customized, but the container frame structure must be adjusted simultaneously to ensure safety.

Specification Categories of Double Door Containers

Double door containers are classified into three categories according to the standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO):

  1. 20-foot double door container: It has an internal length of 5.89 meters, an internal width of 2.34 meters, an internal height of 2.38 meters, a tare weight of 2700 kilograms, a payload of 27780 kilograms, and a capacity of 33.0 cubic meters. It is suitable for storing dry goods or building temporary passages.
  2. 40-foot double door container: It has an internal length of 12.03 meters, an internal width of 2.34 meters, an internal height of 2.38 meters, a tare weight of 4700 kilograms, a payload of 27300 kilograms, and a capacity of 65.3 cubic meters. It is commonly used for transporting heavy goods such as machinery and automobiles.
  3. 40-foot double door high-cube container: The internal height is increased to 2.69 meters, with a capacity of 76.3 cubic meters. It can carry the items of four two-bedroom houses or about 50 tons of rice, making it suitable for transporting oversized goods.

Core Advantages of Double Door Design

The double door structure achieves three functional optimizations through openings at both ends:

  1. Improved loading and unloading efficiency: Bidirectional doors allow two teams to work simultaneously, shortening the time for cargo classification and handling.
  2. Flexible space utilization: The container can be divided into independent compartments, supporting the sharing of transportation resources among different shippers.
  3. Functional extensibility: After closing one end door, it can be quickly converted into an ordinary dry container for use, reducing operating costs.

In the field of house renovation, the double door design offers more possibilities for customizing containers, such as setting the openings at both ends as entrances and viewing windows respectively, or improving indoor air circulation through bidirectional ventilation.
