Installation of Container House Doors

Admin September 16, 2026

The installation of container house doors should be carried out in a step-by-step and standardized manner, taking into account the structural characteristics of container houses, with a focus on the fixing method, sealing treatment, and safety verification. The specific installation process and key points are as follows:

I. Pre-installation Preparation

  1. Check the dimensions of the container door opening
Measure the width, height, and diagonal errors of the door opening to ensure that the deviations are within the allowable range (usually, the width deviation is ≤ ±5mm, and the height deviation is ≤ ±3mm). If the door opening is made of steel structure, check whether the welding points are firm and the surface is flat; if it is a concrete structure, confirm the accuracy of the positions of the reserved embedded parts (such as bolts and angle irons).

  2. Select the appropriate door type
Choose the door type according to the usage scenario:

    • Roller shutter doors: Suitable for large-span spaces such as warehouses. It is necessary to confirm the compatibility between the roller shutter door motor and the top structure of the container.
    • Complete door sets (including door frames): Need to match the dimensions of the door opening. The thickness of the door frame should be compatible with the thickness of the container wall (usually 50-100mm).
    • Industrial sliding doors: Need to reserve space for guide rail installation and confirm that the door weight matches the load-bearing capacity of the container structure.

II. Door Frame Installation

  1. Fix the door frame

    • For complete door sets, first assemble the door frame: Use an electric drill to drill holes (with a depth of 30-40mm) at the top end of the door frame. Connect the horizontal and vertical frames with 80mm-long nails, ensuring that the gaps are ≤ 0.5mm and form a 90° right angle.
    • Place the entire door frame into the door opening and adjust its verticality with a level (the deviation should be ≤ 2mm/m). Fix it to the wall with connecting plates: Use an 8-10mm electric hammer to drill holes at the nail holes of the connecting plates, embed wood shavings, and then fix them with nails. Insert wooden strips into the gaps to prevent loosening.
  2. Reinforcement treatment
Reinforce the corners of the container with steel frames. A concrete pier (with a height of ≥ 100mm) can be poured at the bottom of the door frame to enhance its wind and earthquake resistance. For outdoor long-term use scenarios, it is recommended to apply an anti-corrosion coating on the outer side of the door frame.

III. Door Installation

  1. Install the door leaf

    • For complete door sets: Install hinges (with a spacing of ≤ 600mm) on the door frame, fix the door lock with self-tapping screws, and adjust the gaps between the door leaf and the door frame (the upper and lower gaps should be ≤ 3mm, and the side gaps should be ≤ 5mm).
    • For roller shutter doors: When installing the guide rails, ensure that they are parallel to both sides of the door opening. The roller shaft should be welded and fixed to the top structure of the container, and the motor wiring should reserve a waterproof interface.
  2. Sealing treatment
Fill the gaps between the door frame and the wall with expanding foam, and stick sealing strips (with a thickness of ≥ 5mm) on the edges of the door leaf to prevent rainwater leakage. If there is a need for thermal insulation, polyurethane foam boards can be filled inside the door leaf.

IV. Acceptance and Debugging

  1. Function test
Open and close the door leaf repeatedly to check whether the hinges and locks are flexible and whether the motor of the roller shutter door runs smoothly without abnormal noise.
Use an anemometer to test the wind resistance (for outdoor scenarios, it should not loosen under a wind force of at least level 10).

  2. Safety verification
Check whether all fixing screws are tightened and whether the door leaf fits completely with the ground when closed. For industrial sliding doors, test whether the limit devices are effective to prevent derailment.
