Dimensions of Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

The length and width of container houses vary depending on their type and purpose. Common specifications include lengths of 6 meters and widths of 3 meters, or lengths of 3 meters and widths of 3 meters, with custom sizes such as lengths of 7 meters and widths of 3 meters also available.

I. Standard Container House Dimensions
Standard container houses are typically modified from shipping container specifications. Common standard sizes include lengths of 6 meters, widths of 3 meters, and heights of 2.9 meters (domestic use) or lengths of 6 meters, widths of 2.4 meters, and heights of 2.9 meters (export use). These dimensions are suitable for construction site dormitories, office spaces, medical and epidemic prevention facilities, and other scenarios, accommodating multiple people for living or working. For example, a 6m x 3m container house can accommodate approximately 10 people, making it suitable as a worker dormitory.

II. Small Container House Dimensions
Small container houses have more compact dimensions, with common specifications including lengths of 3 meters, widths of 3 meters, and heights of 2.8 meters, covering an area of about 9 square meters. These houses are typically used for construction site guard posts, storage rooms, or temporary office spaces, with living space accommodating about 2 people. Due to their smaller size, material utilization is higher, but living comfort is relatively lower.

III. Custom Container House Dimensions
According to customer needs, the dimensions of container houses can be flexibly adjusted. For example, a container house with a length of 7 meters, width of 3 meters, and height of 2.8 meters covers an area of 21 square meters and is often used for two-story container mobile homes; custom sizes such as lengths of 3 meters and widths of 6 meters or lengths of 3 meters and widths of 8 meters are suitable for special scenarios such as homestays, shops, or exhibition spaces. Additionally, height can also be adjusted according to needs, such as the internal net height of a 40-foot high cube container reaching up to 2.65 meters, suitable for purposes requiring higher ceilings.

IV. Non-standard Container House Dimensions
In addition to standard sizes, container houses can also be customized to non-standard dimensions, with lengths available in options such as 3 meters, 6 meters, 7 meters, and 12 meters, widths available in options such as 2.5 meters, 3 meters, and 4 meters, and heights available in options ranging from 2.6 meters to 2.9 meters. Door and window positions, partitions, exteriors, and interior decorations can all be designed according to needs to meet diverse application scenarios.
