Container House Design Plans
There are multiple cases and design ideas available for reference when creating design plans for container houses:

Self-built Container House for Couples: This design uses two discarded containers as the main structure, placed at a certain distance apart with a wooden connection built in the middle to form a continuous space. For the roof, OSB boards are first used for sealing, followed by a layer of waterproof tarpaulin, and finally, corrugated aluminum sheets are laid to enhance waterproofing. The roofs of the containers on both sides also have wooden frames built, followed by wooden planks and tiles, ensuring both stability and aesthetic appeal. This design is suitable for couples with some hands-on skills and a limited budget, enabling them to build a low-cost house using discarded containers.
“Floating House” Container Residence: This design is unique, using recycled shipping containers to build an elevated residence that is lifted above the natural ground level and surrounded by native trees, creating an atmosphere of harmony with nature. The interior walls and ceilings are primarily made of recycled wood from demolition, which is both eco-friendly and has a unique texture. The roof is landscaped, not only adding beauty but also providing insulation; a rainwater harvesting system is also installed for water recycling. The house is supported by metal columns with a V-shaped support system, effectively reducing the amount of concrete used and the foundation area, reflecting the concepts of green environmental protection and sustainable development.
15㎡ Mini Container Home: Built on the foundation of an ordinary container, this design features a dark blue color scheme, giving a sense of stability. The container is modified by adding an additional door in the middle, connected to a patio, increasing the transparency and activity space of the house. The roof corners are connected with lifting rods to ensure ample indoor light and good ventilation, and three solar panels are installed on top to meet part of the energy needs. The interior design leans towards a minimalist style, with a primary color scheme of natural wood, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The linear kitchen saves space, and the bedroom bed is foldable, serving as a sofa during the day and a bed at night, improving space utilization. A small stove is placed in the center of the house, with the surrounding walls and floor made of fire-resistant black special materials to ensure safety.
In addition, there are design plans for different areas of container houses provided by designers, such as study rooms, secondary bedrooms, bedroom floors, hallway entrances, kitchen islands, and balcony gardens, which can be selected and combined according to personal needs and preferences.
