The 2nd "Firefly Cup" China (International) Container House Art Innovation Design Competition: This competition was jointly organized and co-organized by more than 20 entities, including the People's Government of Xunwu County, Jiangxi Province, and the Shenzhen Integrated Container Activity Room Industry Association. The results were announced on November 14, 2023. The competition yielded a rich array of winners, with one first prize, two second prizes, five third prizes, thirty excellence awards, seven outstanding instructor awards, and one outstanding organization award. The first-prize work, "Box Tower," was primarily created by Hao Yuke and Chao Ran from Macau University of Science and Technology, demonstrating a high level of design proficiency.
The First Container House Design Competition hosted by the School of Management, Qingdao University of Technology: This competition aimed to promote university-enterprise exchanges and focus on cultivating students' innovative awareness and capabilities. Among the numerous entries, Chen Haixin from the School of Economics and Trade stood out with her "Nebula" design proposal, winning the first prize and reflecting students' innovative thinking and practical abilities in container house design.
The "Hundred Thousand Million · NEW BOX" Container Creative Design Competition in Dongguan: Organized by the Office of the Command Post for the High-Quality Development Project of "Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns, and Ten Thousand Villages" in Dongguan, this competition focused on the transformation and revitalization of containers, highlighting new creativity, new spaces, and new trends. The competition featured six "real-world" problems presented on-site, all derived from actual container construction projects planned and advanced by towns and villages, carrying strong practical significance. Prizes were set for first, second, and third places, as well as special awards, with a top prize of 80,000 yuan, motivating many designers to participate.
The "Alumni Home" Container Architecture Design Competition at the College of Science and Technology, Ningbo University: The competition centered around the design of a container building for the "Alumni Home" at the College of Science and Technology, Ningbo University, with participants being all faculty, staff, and alumni of the college. Works were required to have a building area of approximately 150 square meters, using 8 to 12 standard containers, with main functional requirements covering small exhibitions, water bars, small meetings, storage and logistics, etc., providing clear design directions for participants.
