Container House Construction Process

Admin September 15, 2026

The construction process of a container house mainly includes key steps such as foundation construction, component delivery and hoisting, structural connection, water and electricity installation, and decoration.

Foundation Construction: Foundation construction is carried out according to design requirements, with common forms including concrete foundations and brick foundations. It is necessary to ensure that the foundation is stable and firm, meeting load-bearing requirements. Before construction, the axis dimensions of the wall foundation should be measured, with deviations controlled within ±25mm and wall height deviations not exceeding 10mm. Foundation construction should select an appropriate form based on on-site geological conditions, for example, soft soil foundations require reinforcement.

Component Delivery and Hoisting: Components of a container house include standard containers, steel structural frameworks, and enclosure panels. After delivery, components should undergo quality inspections to ensure no deformation or damage. Hoisting operations require a dedicated plan, using professional lifting equipment to secure the containers to the foundation through embedded parts or expansion bolts. For the construction of multi-story container houses, verticality control is crucial, and tools such as torque turnbuckles should be used for dynamic adjustment.

Structural Connection: Containers are connected to form an overall structure through high-strength bolts or welding. Connection nodes should undergo anti-seismic and anti-loosening treatments, such as using double nuts or anti-loosening washers. The steel structural framework should be fully welded, with weld quality meeting the requirements of the "Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Steel Structures". Walls and roofs use lightweight materials such as rock wool sandwich panels, fixed to the steel framework with self-tapping screws.

Water and Electricity Installation: Water and electricity pipelines should be pre-embedded during the structural construction phase to avoid damaging the structure with later excavations. The electrical system uses PVC pipes for wiring and is equipped with leakage protection devices; water supply and drainage pipes use PPR pipes with hot-melt connections to ensure tightness. Ventilation system design should prevent moisture and mold, achieving air circulation through the installation of exhaust fans or fresh air systems.

Decoration: The indoor floor is laid with floor leather or tiles, and walls are installed with purification panels or painted. Doors and windows are made of broken bridge aluminum alloy materials, equipped with insulated glass to enhance thermal insulation performance. Roof construction should focus on treating the waterproof layer, using glass curtain wall special adhesive to seal joints, with a service life of over 5 years. The exterior wall can be treated with anti-corrosion wood or sprayed with sunscreen coatings as needed.
