Design Drawing of Chicken Coop in Container House
Admin September 17, 2026
Currently, there are no readily available design drawings for chicken coops in container houses, but design ideas and key points can be provided.

Overall Layout Planning
- Space Division: The interior space of the container should be reasonably divided, generally including feeding areas, egg-laying areas, feed storage areas, and ventilation areas. The feeding area occupies the main space, and its size is determined based on the number and breed of chickens being raised. For example, when raising 100 laying hens, the feeding area can be planned to be around 15 - 20 square meters. The egg-laying area should be set in a relatively quiet, concealed, and dry location, where egg-laying boxes can be placed to facilitate hens laying eggs. The feed storage area should ensure dryness and ventilation to prevent feed from getting moldy and deteriorating. Its area is determined according to the feed storage volume, generally accounting for 10% - 15% of the total area. The ventilation area can have ventilation openings set at one end or on the side of the container to ensure air circulation.
- Passageway Setting: Reasonable passageways should be set up within the feeding area to facilitate personnel access and daily management operations such as feeding and manure removal. The width of the passageways is generally 0.6 - 0.8 meters, which can ensure personnel passage without occupying too much feeding space.
Structural Modification Key Points
- Door and Window Design: Doors and windows should be opened at appropriate positions on the container. The size and number of doors and windows should be determined according to the ventilation and lighting requirements of the chicken coop. Generally, 1 - 2 windows can be set on one side of the container, with a window size of about 0.8 meters × 1.2 meters to ensure natural lighting and ventilation. The door should be set in a position convenient for personnel access, with a size of about 0.8 meters × 2 meters to facilitate the handling of feed and equipment.
- Floor Treatment: The floor of the container should be treated for moisture resistance and anti-slip. A layer of waterproof membrane can be laid first, and then concrete can be poured on it, with a thickness of about 5 - 8 centimeters. The surface should be treated for anti-slip, such as by roughening or laying anti-slip floor tiles, to prevent chickens from slipping and getting injured.
Environmental Control Design
- Ventilation System: In addition to natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation equipment such as exhaust fans can be installed to ensure fresh air in the chicken coop. The power and number of exhaust fans should be determined according to the area of the chicken coop and the breeding density. Generally, one exhaust fan with a power of 30 - 50 watts should be installed for every 10 - 15 square meters.
- Temperature Regulation: In cold regions, insulation materials such as polystyrene boards can be installed inside the container, with a thickness of about 5 - 10 centimeters, to improve the insulation performance of the chicken coop. In hot regions, cooling equipment such as a wet curtain - fan cooling system can be installed to ensure a suitable temperature in the chicken coop.
