Container House Calculation and Analysis

Admin September 14, 2026

Container house calculation and analysis require comprehensive consideration of costs, structural performance, and regional differences. The unit cost typically ranges from 800 to 4000 yuan/㎡, depending on materials, configurations, and scale.

1. Cost Composition and Calculation Methods

The cost of container houses is divided into material costs and secondary processing costs. Material costs are based on individual containers, with second-hand containers priced at approximately 12,000 to 30,000 yuan, translating to 800 to 1500 yuan/㎡. If internal decoration and functional configurations (such as waterproofing, insulation, electrical circuits, doors, and windows) are included, the overall cost may rise to 2000 to 4000 yuan/㎡. In terms of calculation methods, manufacturers usually price by 'room' or 'unit', only converting to a per-square-meter price for larger areas (such as constructing large villas or commercial complexes). For example, a container house measuring 6m × 3m × 2.8m has an area of 18㎡. A new container costs about 11,000 yuan, translating to approximately 611 yuan/㎡, but the unit price may double after decoration.

2. Structural Performance and Calculation Methods

The mechanical properties of container houses directly affect their safety and cost. Lateral stiffness and load-bearing capacity are core indicators, requiring numerical simulations (such as using ANSYS software) to analyze the impact of corrugated plate walls, opening ratios, and top beam stiffness on longitudinal shear stiffness, and to propose calculation fitting formulas accordingly. For example, the lateral stiffness of a 6-meter container varies significantly with different opening ratios, necessitating adjustments to structural parameters based on design requirements. When corrugated plates are involved in lateral force calculations, they must be equated to cross-bracing or pinned columns at both ends, with cross-sectional areas determined by stiffness equivalence principles to simulate their horizontal lateral stiffness and vertical load-bearing capacity in design software.

3. Regional Differences and Cost Optimization

Regional factors significantly impact the cost of container houses. In terms of industrial foundation, North China (such as Hebei) serves as a hub for integrated housing industries, with a mature supply chain, lower factory prices, and transportation costs. In contrast, border regions like Khorgos in Xinjiang require long-distance transportation, potentially increasing the cost per container by several thousand yuan in freight. Regarding configuration requirements, cold regions necessitate thicker insulation layers (≥100mm) and wind and snow resistance designs, with prices 15%-30% higher than standard models. For example, the price of a cold-resistant, fully furnished model in Khorgos ranges from 11,000 to 15,000 yuan/set, while similar products in North China cost only 8,500 to 12,000 yuan/set. Optimization suggestions include sourcing locally, clarifying requirements to avoid customization premiums, and selecting large-scale manufacturers to reduce costs.
