Container House Bottom Construction
Admin September 15, 2026
The bottom construction of container houses requires determining the foundation treatment method based on the type of house. The core steps include foundation leveling, foundation construction, structural reinforcement, and drainage treatment, with different types of houses having varying foundation requirements.

1. Foundation Leveling and Foundation Construction
- Foldable/Fixed Container Houses: These have relatively low foundation requirements. Simply leveling the ground is sufficient for direct placement and use. If conditions permit, a cement floor can be poured and drainage ditches can be set up to enhance living comfort.
- Packing-Box Container Houses: These have simple foundation requirements. Strip foundations, pier foundations, or direct placement on the ground can be used. If stability needs to be enhanced, concrete piers can be poured as supports.
- Residential Portable Panel Houses: These have relatively high foundation requirements. A certain area of concrete foundation needs to be poured, and the house is fixed to the foundation using expansion screws. During demolition, the first-floor concrete foundation usually cannot be reused.
2. Structural Reinforcement and Wind/Earthquake Resistance
- Bottom Reinforcement: Container houses used outdoors for a long time need to be reinforced at the bottom with concrete piers or steel frames to enhance wind and earthquake resistance. For example, using steel frames at the corners can significantly improve structural stability.
- Connection Node Treatment: When stacking multiple containers, strict control of verticality is required, and nodes should be fixed using bolts or welding to prevent loosening. The connection nodes should undergo anti-seismic and anti-loosening treatment to ensure structural safety.
3. Drainage and Anti-Corrosion Treatment
- Drainage System: The bottom of container houses needs to be equipped with drainage structures, such as inclined plastic plates, perforated plates, and drainage holes, to prevent water accumulation. Some designs also install water distribution pipes outside the house for flushing and cleaning functions.
- Anti-Corrosion Treatment: The bottom structure should use anti-corrosion materials or coatings to extend its service life. For example, using galvanized corrugated steel plates or anti-corrosion wood exterior wall treatment can effectively resist erosion in humid environments.
4. Construction Precautions
- Measurement and Layout Accuracy: Container houses are prefabricated buildings with few on-site wet operations, but they have extremely high requirements for measurement and layout accuracy. It is necessary to ensure that the installation positions of various components are accurate.
- Lifting Safety Management: Lifting operations must strictly follow safety regulations, select appropriate lifting points, and avoid tilting or collision. Construction personnel should have the corresponding qualifications and wear safety protective equipment.
