Container House Area Regulations
Admin September 16, 2026
There is no unified and fixed regulation on the area of container houses. Common sizes include 9 square meters, 18 square meters, and 21 square meters, and they can also be customized. The area size depends on specific needs and designs.

Common Standard Sizes and Areas
- 9-square-meter container house: It is 3 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 2.8 meters high. This size is relatively small and is usually made when customers have special requirements, as an overly small size may result in material waste.
- 18-square-meter container house: It is 6 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 2.8 meters high. It is a common standard size in the market and can often be seen in scenarios such as construction sites and road construction projects.
- 21-square-meter container house: It is 7 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 2.8 meters high. Most of them are used as two-story container mobile homes and are equipped with corridors and balconies, providing relatively more spacious space.
Customized Sizes and Areas
Customized container houses are generally made according to customer requirements, and their sizes and areas can vary widely. The specific sizes and areas need to be determined through discussions with the manufacturer to meet different scenarios and personalized needs.
Area Calculation Instructions
- Generally, container houses are not priced per square meter. Conventionally, they are priced based on how much per unit or per room. However, for very large container houses, such as those used to build large container villas, they can be priced per square meter. The calculated price per square meter usually does not exceed 1000 yuan. Of course, if high-end materials are used, the price will be different.
- When calculating the area of a container house, if it is a panel house, the area is calculated by multiplying the outer wall length and width by the number of floors. Outdoor stairs and walkways are calculated as the sum of the projected areas of the natural floors. Canopies are calculated as half of the horizontal projected area. Panels extending outside the wall are not included in the building area calculation.
