Container House and Country Yard
There are mainly two forms of combining container houses with country yards: as the main building or as modular housing.

As the Main Building of a Country Yard
Some homeowners choose to build container houses with thermal insulation on the original rural foundations as the main structure of their country yards. The interior space is reasonably planned, and facilities such as air conditioners are installed, providing a relatively high level of living comfort. For example, there is a case of a residential building constructed from three containers. Two standard containers are stacked vertically, with one side cantilevered out. Beneath them lies a customized widened container serving as the main body of the first floor. This design not only supports a staircase leading to the second floor but also features large observation windows. The residence boasts 138 square meters of indoor living space and an equal amount of outdoor area. The flat roof has been transformed into a terrace, and the space beneath the cantilevered container forms a shaded corridor, showcasing clever design and comprehensive functionality. Additionally, the Xiaodingdang Parent-Child Farm offers container courtyard vegetable garden products with a 20-year lease starting at 20,000 yuan. These come with private yards and complete basic facilities, enabling a "5 + 2" lifestyle—five days working in the city and two days enjoying the rural farm, providing urban residents with an opportunity to live close to nature.
As Modular Housing to Revitalize Rural Idle Land
In rural cultural and tourism projects, containers are often used as modular housing to revitalize idle land such as country yards. Many farms, pick-your-own orchards, and rural camping sites consider using trendy container buildings when upgrading their park facilities. These containers are placed using elevated foundation piers, eliminating the need for extensive land excavation, preserving the original landscape, and minimizing environmental disturbance during construction. After factory prefabrication, they can be hoisted into place on-site and put into use once connected to water and electricity, with construction completed in just a few days. Containers serve various purposes in farm settings, including park reception desks, rustic cafes, agricultural product sales stalls, tourist rest tea rooms, and small storage units. Their exteriors can be customized with colors that match the pastoral style, blending seamlessly with the surrounding natural environment while creating popular photo spots. Furthermore, containers are movable. When farm planning changes or the land is no longer in use, they can be hoisted away as a whole, restoring the land to its original state without leaving permanent structures. This results in lower initial investment and shorter construction periods.
