Installation of Air Conditioners in Container Houses
Admin September 15, 2026
The installation of air conditioners in container houses requires selecting the appropriate type based on the purpose, structure, and usage needs, and strictly adhering to installation specifications to ensure safety and effectiveness.

1. Selection of Air Conditioner Types
The installation of air conditioners in container houses requires selecting the appropriate type based on the usage scenario:
- Fixed Locations: Priority should be given to container wall-mounted air conditioners, which are suitable for container houses used for long-term fixed purposes. After installation, they fit closely with the wall, saving space and providing stable cooling efficiency.
- Mobile or Transportation Scenarios: If the container needs to be moved frequently or used for long-distance transportation, vehicle-mounted container air conditioners are a better choice. Their design can adapt to the vibrations and bumps during transportation, ensuring equipment stability.
- Temporary or Portable Needs: Portable air conditioners do not require an outdoor unit and expel hot air through a heat exhaust pipe. They are suitable for rental housing, temporary office spaces, or container houses where an outdoor unit cannot be installed. However, it is important to note that the heat exhaust pipe needs to extend outdoors to avoid heat reflux.
2. Installation Specifications and Precautions
- Structural Adaptability:
- Confirm that the internal dimensions of the container match the volume of the air conditioner to avoid installation difficulties or reduced cooling efficiency due to insufficient space.
- If a wall-mounted air conditioner is selected, ensure that the wall's load-bearing capacity meets the requirements and install a load-bearing bracket if necessary.
- Electrical Safety:
- Check whether there are spare sockets in the container's power distribution unit (PDU) and whether the wire diameter meets the power requirements of the air conditioner (usually 300W-1500W).
- High-power models (e.g., above 3kW) require separate wiring and connection to a circuit breaker to avoid circuit overload and potential safety hazards.
- Drainage and Ventilation:
- During the cooling process, condensation water will be generated. Plan a drainage path and connect it to a floor drain or bucket; for outdoor installations, priority can be given to condensation water evaporation models to simplify drainage.
- Ensure that the air outlet is unobstructed, and the air intake and outlet directions avoid walls or direct sunlight to maintain air circulation efficiency.
3. Maintenance and Upkeep
Regularly clean the air conditioner's filter and internal dust to improve ventilation efficiency and reduce energy consumption; at the same time, check whether the drainage pipe is clogged and whether the wires are aging, and promptly replace damaged parts to extend the equipment's lifespan.
