Container Board House Roof Treatment

Admin September 16, 2026

When treating the roof of a container board house, it is essential to focus on aspects such as waterproofing, material selection, support structure design, and maintenance. The specific treatment methods are as follows:

Waterproofing Treatment

Waterproofing is a crucial step in treating container roofs. Waterproof adhesives or coatings can be applied to the roof, such as polyurethane waterproof coatings, which should be applied multiple times to ensure a uniform coating thickness, enhance the roof's waterproofing capability, and extend its service life. Alternatively, waterproof membranes like SBS waterproof membranes can be laid, with attention paid to the overlap width and sealing during installation to prevent rainwater leakage.

Material Selection

The appropriate roofing material should be selected based on actual needs. Steel and aluminum alloys offer excellent strength and durability, capable of withstanding significant pressure without deformation, although their cost is relatively high. Waterproof fabrics are less expensive and easy to install, but may require periodic replacement. Additionally, auxiliary materials such as connectors and sealing materials should be prepared to ensure the roof's stability and sealing.

Support Structure Design

A reasonable support structure ensures the stability of the roof. Between two containers, steel frames or aluminum alloy brackets can be used as the primary support structure, which should be bent according to the roof's curvature to ensure a flat and stable roof. Additional crossbeams or steel plates can also be added to the top of the containers to enhance the roof's load-bearing capacity.

Installation and Sealing

When installing roofing materials, ensure that all support structures are firmly installed. Cut and splice the selected materials according to the design dimensions to maintain a flat and smooth roof surface, avoiding unevenness. The connection between the roof and the container should be tightly sealed, using sealants to prevent rainwater infiltration, with the sealants requiring periodic replacement.

Regular Inspection and Maintenance

Regularly inspect the support structure for looseness, the roofing material for damage, and the sealing at connections for integrity. After severe weather, promptly inspect the roof for damage and make repairs. Additionally, clear fallen leaves from the roof annually and strictly prevent water accumulation, as standing water can accelerate steel plate corrosion.
