Interval of Mobile Toilets at Construction Sites

Admin September 24, 2026

The interval for setting up mobile toilets at construction sites should be determined based on the type of construction and specific standards.

For general construction sites, according to the requirements of the 'Environmental and Sanitary Standards for Construction Sites' (JGJ146), mobile toilets and smoking areas should be set up every 3 floors within the building. This regulation aims to ensure that construction workers can conveniently and promptly use toilet facilities during their work, while also helping to maintain environmental hygiene at the construction site and reduce environmental pollution and health hazards caused by uncivilized behaviors such as urinating and defecating anywhere.

For high-rise building construction, the situation is different. According to the 'Safety Inspection Standards for Building Construction' (JGJ59-2011), when high-rise building construction exceeds 8 floors, mobile toilets should be set up every four floors. This adjustment mainly takes into account the particularities of high-rise building construction, such as long construction periods, wide working areas, and dense personnel. Appropriately increasing the interval for toilet setup can ensure the convenience of use for construction workers while also considering the overall layout and safety management of the construction site.

In practice, construction units should reasonably plan the setup locations and quantities of mobile toilets based on factors such as the type of construction, floor height, and construction period of specific projects, in combination with the above standard requirements. At the same time, they should also strengthen the daily maintenance and management of toilets to ensure that toilet facilities are intact and clean, providing a good usage environment for construction workers.

In addition, it is worth noting that in addition to setting up mobile toilets, construction units should also strengthen environmental hygiene management at the construction site, regularly clean up garbage, disinfect and sterilize to prevent disease transmission and environmental pollution. Through comprehensive measures, a safe, healthy, and civilized construction environment can be jointly created.
