Installation of Construction Site Mobile Toilets

Admin October 08, 2026

The installation of construction site mobile toilets must follow standardized procedures to ensure safety and functionality. The specific steps and key points are as follows:

I. Pre-installation Preparations

  1. Site Survey
    • Determine the installation location in advance, prioritizing flat and solid ground areas while avoiding main construction roads and pollution sources (such as chemical storage areas).
    • It is recommended to maintain a distance of more than 1.5 meters from the edge of the foundation pit to prevent toilet tilting or damage due to construction vibrations.
  2. Material Verification
    • Upon receiving the equipment, inspect the integrity of the toilet body to ensure there are no dents, cracks, or other damages; verify the配件清单 (accessory list) to ensure that door locks, flush valves, sewage pipes, etc., are all present.
    • If any damage or missing items are found, immediately contact the supplier for replacement to avoid affecting subsequent installation progress.
  3. Foundation Preparation
    • Clear ground debris according to the toilet type (single or connected units) and lay gravel or pour a concrete foundation.
    • Ensure that the foundation's load-bearing capacity meets standards: the load-bearing capacity for a single-person toilet should be ≥200 kg/㎡ to prevent ground collapse due to concentrated use.

II. On-site Installation Steps

  1. Toilet Body Positioning
    • Use a forklift or crane to smoothly hoist the toilet body to the designated location, maintaining levelness during operation to avoid tilting.
    • When multiple people are involved, unified command is required to ensure a safe hoisting process and prevent collisions or slippage.
  2. Drainage Connection
    • Connect the sewage pipe to the construction site's drainage system or a temporary collection pit, sealing the interface with sealing tape or cement to prevent sewage leakage.
    • It is recommended to install an anti-backflow valve to prevent sewage backflow due to abnormal pressure in the drainage system.
  3. Flush System Debugging
    • Connect to the water source (tap water or a dedicated water tank), test whether the flush function is normal, and check if the drainage pipe is unobstructed.
    • If water accumulates after flushing, investigate issues with pipe slope or blockages and adjust or clear them promptly.
  4. Internal and External Inspection
    • Internal inspection: Confirm that facilities such as sinks, hooks, and toilet paper holders are securely installed without any risk of loosening or detachment.
    • External inspection: Check the toilet body's sealing to ensure there are no water leaks or air leaks, preventing odor diffusion or rainwater infiltration.

III. Other Considerations

  • Structural Characteristics: The mobile toilet frame is welded from steel, with a bottom made of channel steel or I-beams, columns made of square steel, and wall materials including color-coated steel plates and fiberglass-reinforced plastics, all meeting hoisting requirements.
  • Applicable Scenarios: With advantages such as mobility, modularity, and ease of transportation, they are suitable for large construction sites, scenic spots, and other locations. Their internal configurations are typically higher than those of ordinary fixed toilets.
  • Special Type Installation: If using a stainless steel waterless packing squat pan without a sewage pipe, installation should be carried out according to the surface-mounted or buried method, suitable for waterless areas or temporary locations.
