Construction Site Excellent Mobile Toilet Design

Admin October 09, 2026

The design of excellent mobile toilets for construction sites requires comprehensive optimization in terms of materials, structure, treatment systems, energy supply, operation and maintenance, site selection, foundation treatment, and installation to achieve a balance between hygiene, environmental protection, and efficient operation and maintenance.

Material Selection: Priority is given to antibacterial new materials to inhibit bacterial growth and reduce odors. The box body panels are made of recycled plastic and plant fiber composite materials, achieving a recyclable closed loop. The degradation medium in the treatment chamber uses agricultural by-products such as sawdust and straw, which are converted into humus soil for non-food plant cultivation after the end of the use cycle, reducing resource waste.

Structural Design: A modular box structure is adopted, with the main frame made of lightweight alloy materials, balancing strength and transportation convenience. The internal space is calculated based on ergonomics to reasonably plan the toilet area and functional areas. Standardized interfaces are used at connection points for quick assembly. The ventilation system is optimized to enhance air circulation, reduce humidity, and inhibit microbial growth.

Treatment System: Wastewater treatment is divided into two stages: physical separation and biochemical degradation. Urine enters the storage tank, while solid excreta is decomposed by microorganisms in the degradation chamber into carbon dioxide, water, and inorganic salts. The decomposition rate is controlled by adjusting the airflow through the ventilation ducts. Water-saving technology employs foam sealing or vacuum suction systems, with a single water consumption of only one-tenth of that of traditional toilets, reducing water source dependence.

Energy Supply: Solar photovoltaic panels and battery packs are installed on the top for combined power supply, prioritized for lighting, ventilation, and control systems, with surplus stored. Advanced models are equipped with energy management modules that automatically adjust power consumption based on usage frequency, extending the continuous operating time of the equipment.

Operation and Maintenance Management: An embedded monitoring system collects real-time data such as the liquid level in the storage tank, the temperature in the degradation chamber, and the battery voltage through sensors and wirelessly transmits it to the management platform. When parameters exceed thresholds, automatic maintenance reminders are generated to achieve on-demand maintenance and improve equipment usage efficiency.

Site Selection and Layout: Priority is given to placement on the inner side of the construction site living area, 30 to 50 meters away from dormitories and canteens, avoiding the prevailing summer wind direction and office and residential areas. Before site selection, it is necessary to confirm that there are no underground pipelines, review pipeline maps, and mark them. If there is a surrounding wall, it can be placed adjacent to form natural shelter.

Foundation Treatment: After clearing surface debris, the foundation soil surface is compacted, with a compaction degree of not less than 90%. A 10 to 15 cm C20 concrete cushion is poured, with a reserved drainage slope of 2% to 3%. When the construction period is tight, prefabricated reinforced concrete panels or steel road base boxes can be used, with the panels locked together using connecting fasteners.

Installation Process: It is recommended to use an integral steel structure frame combined with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) wall panels or color-steel sandwich panels, which have the characteristics of light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, and a fire rating of Class A. The dimensions of a single toilet unit should preferably be 1.2 meters in length, 1.2 meters in width, and 2.4 meters in height, with an internal clear height of not less than 2 meters.
