Construction Methods of Mobile Toilets

Admin September 20, 2026

There are mainly two common methods for constructing mobile toilets: using buckets and using water storage tanks with pallets. Additionally, mobile toilets can be classified into various structural forms and sewage treatment methods.

Constructing a Portable Toilet Using Buckets

  1. Materials Preparation: Prepare wooden boards, universal wheels, buckets, wooden strips, angle grinders, aluminum-plastic panels, white paint, hinges, elbow drain pipes, floor drains, PVC pipes, valve switches, tee pipes, showerhead pipes, toilets, and sealants.
  2. Construction Steps:
    • Base Construction: Install universal wheels on wooden boards to form the base, and place the cut buckets on the base.
    • Bucket Body Fixation and Opening: Fix wooden strips around the bucket body, use an angle grinder to cut out an entrance and exit for the toilet, and wrap and fix the cut edges with wooden boards.
    • Heightening and Internal Treatment: Insert aluminum-plastic panels to extend the height, install a bucket lid on the top, and paint the internal wooden strips with white paint.
    • Door Installation: Fabricate a wooden door and attach it to the door frame using hinges.
    • Drainage System Installation: Mark the hole positions at the bottom, connect elbow drain pipes, and install floor drains.
    • Shower System Installation: Drill holes on the side to install water pipe connectors, connect green buckets, fabricate a showerhead, and attach it below the green buckets.
    • Toilet Installation: Drill a hole in the middle of the base as the toilet's drain pipe, install the toilet, and apply sealant.

Constructing a Portable Toilet Using Water Storage Tanks and Pallets

  1. Materials Preparation: Prepare plastic pallets, universal wheels, water storage tanks, angle grinders, self-tapping screws, hole-opening tools, elbows, water pipes, glue, toilets, faucets, pipe caps, stainless steel basins, wooden boards, hinges, and door handles.
  2. Construction Steps:
    • Base and Water Storage Tank Placement: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the pallet bottom and place the water storage tank.
    • Water Storage Tank Processing: Use an angle grinder to cut the top of the water storage tank to form an open tank, invert and stack another open-top water storage tank on the first one, and fix them with self-tapping screws.
    • Internal System Installation: Cut out a rectangular opening as the entrance, drill a hole in the ground inside the water storage tank, insert an elbow and connect a water pipe; install the toilet and fix it with glue, secure the water pipe and install a faucet, connect a water pipe to the pipe cap and cut out a hole as the drain pipe outlet.
    • Sink and Showerhead Installation: Apply glass glue on the pipe cap and fix a stainless steel basin as the sink, connect the toilet tank's inlet pipe and the shower hose; install the toilet seat and a spray-type showerhead.
    • Door Installation: Fix a wooden board as the toilet door and install a door handle.

In addition, mobile toilets can be classified into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets based on their structural forms, and into water-flush and non-water-flush suction-type mobile toilets, circulating-water mobile toilets, etc., based on their sewage treatment methods.
