Concrete Prefabricated Houses in Maoming
Maoming City has formed a relatively well-developed pattern in the field of concrete prefabricated houses, with government demonstration leading and rural promotion running in parallel, and the application scenarios of ultra-high-performance concrete prefabricated components are extensive.

Policy and Market Promotion: Government Takes the Lead, Market Follows
Since launching the promotion of prefabricated buildings in 2019, Maoming City has established a development model featuring a well-developed policy system, an initial industrial layout, and synchronized talent cultivation. In government-invested projects, the proportion of prefabricated buildings has increased significantly: from 10.2% in 2021 to 36.2% in the first half of 2025. This strategy has driven market acceptance of concrete prefabricated houses through government project demonstrations, laying the foundation for technology popularization and industrial chain improvement.
Pilot Promotion in Rural Areas: Focusing on People's Livelihood Needs
Maoming City has carried out pilot projects for prefabricated buildings in rural areas in conjunction with the 'Hundred-Thousand-Ten-Thousand Project,' focusing on three types of projects:
- Improvement of Rural House Appearance: Achieving unified appearance and functional upgrades of rural houses through standardized prefabricated components;
- Rural Dilapidated House Renovation: Utilizing the characteristics of rapid construction and structural safety of prefabricated houses to shorten renovation cycles and enhance seismic performance;
- Resettlement of Reservoir Migrants: Adopting modular design to meet the needs of migrants for rapid reconstruction of their living environment.
The pilot projects explore the adaptability of prefabricated buildings in rural scenarios through a 'point-to-area' approach, providing experience for large-scale promotion.
Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) Prefabricated Components: Technological Advantages and Application Expansion
UHPC prefabricated components, with their characteristics of high strength (compressive strength exceeding 150MPa) and durability (resistance to chloride ion penetration and carbonation), have become a new choice in Maoming's infrastructure construction field. Their application scenarios include:
- Municipal Engineering: Prefabricated beams and slabs, drainage components for bridges and roads, enhancing structural lifespan and load-bearing capacity;
- High-Rise Buildings: Prefabricated stairs, balconies, and other non-load-bearing components, reducing on-site wet operations;
- Water Conservancy Governance: Corrosion-resistant components such as riverbank revetments and water gates, adapting to humid environments;
- Urban Renewal: Prefabricated exterior walls and underground utility tunnels in old city renovations, balancing construction efficiency and environmental protection requirements.
Through policy guidance, pilot demonstrations, and technological upgrades, Maoming City has gradually promoted the extension of concrete prefabricated houses from government projects to rural markets and from ordinary components to high-performance materials, forming a diversified development path.
