Color Steel Plate House and Container House

Admin September 17, 2026

There are significant differences between color steel plate houses and container houses in terms of cost and characteristics.

Cost: The cost of container houses is higher than that of color steel plate houses, with the price difference primarily stemming from materials and configurations. Container houses feature a solid steel frame and rich configurations, similar to fully furnished houses, with prices varying based on specifications and configurations. For example, the price of a cross-border export container mobile house from Shanghai Jiangyu Steel Structure Co., Ltd.'s Jiangsu branch is 280.0 yuan per square meter, while the price of a container mobile house from Shanghai Tongjiuzhou Container Co., Ltd. is 4,800.0 yuan (with monthly sales of 3 units). In contrast, color steel plate houses consist of a light steel frame with two layers of color steel plates, featuring simple configurations similar to unfinished houses, with a variety of market prices. For instance, products from Suzhou Keliwei Integrated Housing Co., Ltd. are priced at 102.0 yuan, while those from Yunchangda (Suzhou) Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd. are priced at 80.0 yuan.

Characteristics:

  • Color Steel Plate House: It boasts good weather resistance, strong customizability, and a short construction period. Its appearance is mostly rectangular panels, produced through continuous composite pressing, with customizable product dimensions and lengths, adhering to national standards. It has a wide range of applications, including insulated color steel roofing, ceilings, walls, partitions, etc., suitable for use as temporary offices, warehouses, and temporary accommodations on construction sites. However, it may have certain limitations in terms of fire resistance and aesthetic appeal.
  • Container House: It is sturdy and durable, easy to transport, and highly flexible, making it suitable for use as temporary shops, cafes, exhibition spaces, etc. Using containers as basic units, it can be quickly assembled and disassembled, facilitating movement and reconfiguration at different locations. However, it may be slightly lacking in thermal insulation and spatial customization. Due to the material and structural characteristics of containers, their thermal insulation performance may not be as good as some specially designed buildings, and their spatial layout is relatively fixed, limiting the degree of customization.
