Standards for Mobile Toilets on Civilized Construction Sites
The standards for mobile toilets on civilized construction sites cover aspects such as site selection and installation, quantity allocation, maintenance and cleaning, hygiene compliance, safety and emergency response, environmental protection and compliance, response to special weather conditions, and signage and guidance. Details are as follows:

Site Selection and Installation: Mobile toilets should be located away from hazardous construction areas, such as the operating radius of tower cranes and the edges of foundation pits, and avoid low-lying areas prone to water accumulation to ensure a solid foundation. During installation, they should be placed horizontally and the fixing bolts should be tightened to prevent tipping over due to wind. On landscape construction sites, they can be placed near sewage wells for easy connection to the municipal sewage network; mobile toilets in garages should be placed in conspicuous locations or corners and equipped with guiding signs.
Quantity and Allocation: For landscape and garage construction sites, one toilet stall should be provided for every 50 people; for mobile toilets inside buildings, one should be installed every four floors, with one stall per toilet. The area of a single toilet stall should be no less than 1.2 square meters and should be equipped with basic facilities such as a sink, toilet paper, and hand soap.
Maintenance and Cleaning: They should be flushed at least once a day, with regular removal of waste to maintain cleanliness both inside and outside. The floor should be hardened, with complete doors and windows, and good ventilation. Partition boards (with a height of no less than 0.9 meters) should be installed between stalls. Dedicated personnel should be arranged for daily cleaning, with disinfection in the morning and evening, and increased inspection frequencies during peak usage times.
Hygiene Compliance: They should meet the hygiene standards for Class III flush toilets specified in the Environmental and Hygiene Standards for Construction Sites (JGJ 146-2013), including the absence of visible maggots within 30-50 cm around the inner and outer surfaces of the toilet bowls, floors, and fecal storage tanks. Non-flush toilets should also comply with these standards.
Safety and Emergency Response: Anti-slip mats should be installed, with handrail heights recommended between 0.8-1.1 meters, and equipped with fire extinguishers and emergency lighting. Adequate lighting should be maintained during night construction, and a "Out of Service" sign should be posted immediately in case of equipment failure, with prompt contact for repairs. During construction in areas such as garages, additional protective measures like bamboo mats should be added to the roof of mobile toilets.
Environmental Protection and Compliance: It is prohibited to dispose of construction waste, flammable and explosive materials, or chemicals into the toilets. Fecal disposal should comply with local sanitation regulations, and formal waste removal units should be selected. The area around the toilets should be kept clean, with conspicuous hygiene reminder signs posted.
Response to Special Weather Conditions: During the rainy season or extreme weather, anti-slip and drainage facilities should be inspected and strengthened, with the addition of rain shelters or anti-slip mats if necessary. In winter, anti-freezing measures should be taken to prevent damage to water tanks and pipes due to freezing.
Signage and Guidance: Conspicuous signs should be posted, indicating "Temporary Construction Toilet". Distribution maps and guiding route maps for mobile toilets on each floor should be posted in conspicuous locations in elevators and on floors.
