Mobile Toilet Setup for Civilized Construction Sites

Admin October 16, 2026

The setup of mobile toilets at civilized construction sites requires comprehensive consideration from four aspects: quantity allocation, facility hygiene, location layout, and management requirements. The specific standards are as follows:

I. Quantity and Allocation Standards

  1. Squat Position Allocation Based on Personnel Numbers: For landscape and garage construction sites, allocate one squat position per 50 people; for buildings, set up one toilet every four floors, with one room and one squat position per toilet; for basic allocation, add one squat position per 15 people, with at least three for men's toilets and two for women's toilets; for high-rise buildings exceeding eight floors, set up temporary toilets every four floors.
  2. Gender Ratio Refinement: For men's toilets, allocate one squat position per 15 people for fewer than 100 people, and add one squat position for every additional 30 people for more than 100 people; for women's toilets, allocate 1-2 squat positions per 15 people for fewer than 100 people, and add one squat position for every additional 30 people for more than 100 people.

II. Facility and Hygiene Requirements

  1. Structural Safety: The maintenance structure must use non-combustible materials (such as galvanized iron sheets filled with rock wool) to ensure fire resistance.
  2. Sewage Disposal and Cleaning: For landscape construction sites with access to municipal sewage networks, set up water-flush toilets with handwashing basins; for dry toilets inside buildings, assign dedicated personnel for daily cleaning; the sewage system must include odor-proof design, and some equipment should be equipped with sewage tanks for centralized disposal.
  3. Ventilation and Lighting: Toilet stalls must have independent compartments, toilets, flushing systems, and handwashing basins; high-end configurations can include soap dispensers and toilet paper holders; install exhaust fans inside and solar lights or emergency lighting outside.

III. Location and Layout Principles

  1. Construction Areas: Set up one toilet point for every 50-80 workers, close to tower cranes or material storage areas to avoid interfering with construction workflows; allocate one group (2-3 compartments) per 100 people in living areas.
  2. Safety Distance: Maintain a minimum distance of 3 meters between toilet points and construction machinery or temporary electrical facilities, away from foundation pit edges and slopes; select locations close to the construction site, at least 30 meters away from canteens, and away from noise and pollution sources.
  3. Guidance Signage: Place garage toilets in conspicuous locations or corners and set up guidance signs; post distribution maps and guidance route maps in prominent positions on elevators and floors.
  4. Appearance Adaptation: Choose styles that harmonize with the urban landscape; for locations near residential areas or scenic spots, adopt eco-friendly toilets decorated with green plants.

IV. Management Requirements

  1. Hygiene System: Establish a rotating duty system and regularly inspect its implementation; assign dedicated personnel for cleaning, flushing, and disinfecting, and regularly clean out septic tanks to prevent mosquito and fly breeding.
  2. Sewage Disposal: Temporary toilets must have independent water supply and drainage systems or assign dedicated personnel for regular fecal bucket cleaning.
