Chongqing Rural Prefabricated House Assembly

Admin September 18, 2026

The assembly of prefabricated houses in rural areas of Chongqing focuses on the construction of prefabricated agricultural houses, achieving an efficient, low-cost, and environmentally friendly building model through factory-prefabricated components and on-site assembly.

I. Policy Support and Subsidies
The Chongqing Housing and Urban-Rural Development Commission, in conjunction with the Municipal Finance Bureau, has introduced policies to provide financial support for the construction of prefabricated agricultural houses:

  • Self-built and self-occupied agricultural houses: Farmers who build and occupy their own prefabricated agricultural houses are eligible for a subsidy of 500 yuan per square meter;
  • Commercial agricultural houses: Enterprises or individuals constructing prefabricated agricultural houses for commercial purposes, such as homestays, are eligible for a subsidy of 200 yuan per square meter.

II. Construction Requirements
Prefabricated agricultural houses must meet the following technical specifications:

  • Structural Type: The main structure must adopt a prefabricated concrete structure or a prefabricated steel structure (non-light steel) to ensure structural safety;
  • Component Standardization: Except for the foundation, main components such as beams, columns, floor slabs, internal and external wall panels, and stairs must all be prefabricated in factories. They are cast in one piece using high-precision molds, integrating functions such as steel reinforcement skeletons, insulation layers, waterproof layers, and pre-embedded pipelines;
  • On-site Assembly Requirements: After components are transported to the site, they must be connected using methods such as prestressed bolts and welded steel plates to form an overall framework. On-site wet operations (such as masonry and pouring) are strictly prohibited.

III. Assembly Process

  1. Foundation Construction: After completing the excavation of the homestead and site leveling, conduct foundation works such as manual dug piles;
  2. Component Production: Core components are prefabricated in factories, with each module integrating multiple structures to ensure quality control;
  3. On-site Assembly: Utilize equipment such as cranes to quickly install components. For example, three workers working with a crane can complete the installation of a single module in 4 hours, and the overall construction of a 100-square-meter house takes only 2 days.

IV. Core Advantages

  • High Efficiency: The construction period is shortened by more than 50% compared to traditional models;
  • Low Cost: Overall costs are reduced by approximately 30%, thanks to factory-scale production and rapid on-site assembly;
  • Good Environmental Performance: Construction waste is reduced by 90%, with no dust or sewage discharge at the construction site;
  • High Quality: Structural safety performance is enhanced, functional design is modernized, and it can be integrated with local rural styles and green concepts.

This model provides an efficient and sustainable solution for rural housing construction in Chongqing through standardized design, industrialized production, and prefabricated construction.
