China State Construction Prefabricated Housing

Admin September 18, 2026

China State Construction prefabricated housing primarily adopts a modular construction approach, namely the E-MIC prefabricated concrete box-type housing system, which features innovative design, high cost-effectiveness, short construction periods, controllable quality, energy efficiency, environmental protection, and wide application scenarios.

Innovative Design Concept: China State Construction prefabricated housing breaks away from the traditional approach of 'one module per room' and adopts a 'one-space-one-module' layout, simplifying the basic units into three types: prefabricated concrete modules, prefabricated beams, and prefabricated slabs. This design reduces module usage by 30%-40%, lowers material consumption, increases usable floor area, accelerates construction speed, and allows for more flexible spatial layouts. For example, by optimizing module combinations, large-span spaces or irregular structures can be achieved to meet diverse architectural needs.

High Cost-Effectiveness: The 'E' in the E-MIC system stands for economy. By integrating green design principles with modular advantages, it significantly shortens construction periods and reduces costs. Taking the Guangdong Shenzhen affordable housing project as an example, five nearly 100-meter residential buildings were assembled using 6,028 concrete modules, compressing the construction period from the traditional 2.5-3 years to just 1 year, with an overall cost reduction of approximately 30%.

Short Construction Period: Modular construction transfers over 60% of the processes to the factory, with only assembly work required on-site. Compared to traditional construction, the construction period can be shortened by more than 60%. For instance, the Shenzhen project achieved efficient construction through standardized module production and mechanized hoisting, significantly improving project delivery efficiency.

Controllable Quality: Each module is equipped with a detailed 'ID card' recording project name, product model, and production date. During production, steel bar positioning accuracy is controlled in millimeters, with an error rate below 0.5%, ensuring structural safety and building quality.

Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection: The factory prefabrication model reduces on-site wet work by over 80%, lowering noise, dust, and construction waste emissions, and alleviating traffic congestion. For example, the Shenzhen project reduced on-site waste by 90% compared to traditional construction, meeting green building standards.

Wide Application Scenarios: This system is suitable for various scenarios, including urban renewal, residential buildings, office buildings, hotels, and senior living apartments. Overseas market cases include: 63 modular senior living apartments purchased by a British client, with on-site hoisting completed in two weeks; and 84 modules assembled into a fully functional hotel in Papua New Guinea, demonstrating cross-regional adaptability.
